I just have to say, as a LSU Basketball fan, and in memory of CJB--I agree. We very soon forget the upset of Arizona when they were #1, the upset of Duke, routine beatings of Billy D, Bruce Pearl a few years ago. I still say CJB is a good coach, and not only did he need LSU, but LSU needed him when he came in. The recent years were getting longer and sands have shifted (often not in one's control), but CJB still goes down as the third winningest coach in LSU history, and someone who got LSU back to the final four. EXCEPT THAT BUTCH AND BRADY RECRUITED HIM... TOMMY MASON-GRIFFIN IN '09. THEY JUST RAN OUT OF TIME. The ironic thing here is that LSU actually has some pretty nice recruits coming in the next couple of years. Someone coming in can see a solid group of players, good school in a great conference, that had gone to the final four two years ago. Let's be fair here, Brady is leaving a program that is far different than the one that Dale Brown left (not casting stones at Dale...just making the point of ... what is a Coach to be measured on these days? Clearly, it's not for running a good clean program?). I think Skip did this to get an early jump on coaching interviews. This is potentially one of the top college hoops jobs that'll be coming open and he's learned not to wait until the first dominoes have already dropped. :geaux::bball: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. Brady is one of only thirteen head coaches to take an SEC team to the final four. That puts him in pretty select company. I appreciate that he accepted the job when few wanted it. He took almost to the top. I appreciate his commitment to LSU and the gracious way that he left. He showed that he is and will always be a Tiger Fan. It was time for him to go and I wish him well.
Some things never change, I bet you are hoping that basketball does suck so you can be right for a change. Yes, for a change, you were obviously all wrong about basketball but we know why, you could care less. I'm shocked to see that Brady was finally let go. I haven't been on this board for a while. The whole family is sick, we all have had colds believe it or not for the last 3 weeks. I just hope they find a basketball coach with class and character that doesn't make an ass out of himself. Brady was a disgrace for the university.
Actually, I could not care less. If LSU Basketball rises to the top, somebody let me know so I can be happy.
