Seven months ago Obama said that you never raise taxes in a recession. What has changed? He is playing to his political base. He knows that the only way he wins in '12 is to show himself as a centrist and republicans as obstructionist. We all see how "the party of no" crap did for the dems in the mid terms. Obama wants the debt limit talks to fail. It's his only way to pass the blame for his failed policies onto the republicans. Even lasalle can see this. Why would he want to raise them now during a debt limit discussion. Why would you not raise them seven months ago if not for political theater.
