Was it not Booger who, after winning the opening coin toss said, "We defend dis goal." Thus allowing the other team to have the football first on the kickoff for the first AND second half?

Let me say this in defense of LSU fans. I absolutely detest booing these kids and the team. Having said that, there is realistically no fan base in the country that won't start some booing after your starting QB throws a pick-6 every game for half the season. Those mythical, saintly fans don't exist. That doesn't mean the people who boo aren't jerks or lets them off the hook, but that's reality, and LSU fans hardly lie outside the norm here.

To the point, JJ lacks confidence because he's being set up to fail, regardless of whether it's being done by Les or Crowton. He's being asked to run an offense that he's physically and mentally ill-equipped to run, and being used as a scrambling QB like he's the second coming of MIchael Vick when his running ability is slightly above average at best. And we're seeing the predictable result of JJ doing neither particularly well. IMO, if Les really has seen enough of Crowton's spread-option abomination and sticks mainly with pro sets, JJ"s performance will improve, and his confidence along with it.

My concern is that he is in year 3 and is still learning the offense. He is a Junior, and he looks lost. Jarrett Lee doesn't look lost on the field, he just has that gunslinger mentality. And don't say he is scared to take a hit, because he got smoked against Auburn in 08 and delivered a beautiful pass to Chris Mitchell for a touchdown.

It's time to give the kid another shot. How many times has Jarrett Lee hidden behind his coach post game? How many times has Jarrett Lee took his lumps like a man after all the bull**** the fans put that kid through. I want a man out there, not a kid, and if Jordan is still "young, and learning the offense" it's time for him to learn it with a clipboard. Can it get any worse at the quarterback position that what we saw? I know, interceptions, at least he has the guts to make a play.

They need to split time, and fight for the position. May the best man win.

Ok, i have a question... If Jarrett Lee doesn't get hurt in the Ole Miss game in 08, is he still our starting quarterback?

    EXACTLY.

JJ has had his time to 'learn'. If the switch is going to turn on, it needs to happen as he splits time with Lee.

JJ has had 17 games to get better. Maybe Miles would have given Lee the same amount of time to work through his pick 6's.

To Charlie Mac, too. He loyally hung on to three or four old assistants that were no longer getting the job done. And it cost him.
