He's probably heard a lot of stuff from classmates and got the great advice of... "You gotta play better" and "That was a bad INT"
He shouldn't single himself out at all. He should say WE have to get better. WE need to work on some things on offense, but WE give it our all in practice everyday. Actually, he doesn't need to speak to reporters anymore...but that's another story.
And besides, he wasn't talking about his own struggles as much as he was talking about how the fans need to be patient. You can go check my post history, and I don't think you'll find many bigger proponents of JJ than I have been. But fans have BEEN patient. Like I said, I like the kid, and I'm hoping he LIGHTS IT UP this weekend, but he needs to zip it to the media. He sends the WRONG message every time he opens his mouth to reporters.
Defensive much? I don't doubt at all he's working as hard as he can to improve. So how about we all take a deep breath and see how he performs on Saturday.
hes just letting it be known despite his struggles hes doing everything he can to do whats best for the team. i like what he said actually. hes owning up to his mediocrity. also this part: means dont boo me you mother****ing honkies.
I think he was right to single himself out. It's not a mystery that he was the weak link last weekend. He knows it, and he basically owned it. But....although I agree with the fan patience thing, he should not have said that. Comes across whiny and mealy-mouthed. It sounds like a press version of his main game problem - confidence. Hope he shuts us all up Saturday.
Thank you! I don't have a problem with him THINKING it...just zip it to the media! Like I said, he did it before the UNC game too...saying the exact opposite of everyone else on the team, especially the coaches. Let your play do the talking.
Breaking News!!!! I actually agree with TigerTap on this one.:shockI am just as shocked as y'all are). JJ knows the fans aren't happy with his play and he didn't blame anyone else for his struggles. So I don't have a problem with the I's. I don't agree that we need to be patient and wait for him to improve. We might not have a choice in the matter, but that is another issue.
That's fine, I don't mind having a difference of opinion on the I's and we's. But he's an upperclassmen. I have taken up for JJ/Lee/Miles/Crowton vehemently the last couple of years, but it's time to put up or shut up with the offense. Either shet or get off the pot. I personally blame a lot of it on Crowton...the majority of it, in fact. But Saturday night was on JJ, and yeah, I'm cool with him owning up to it...but own up to it on the field Saturday, and don't tell me to be patient. I've BEEN patient. I was one of the "Well, he's the youngest QB in the SEC", "He was supposed to be holding a clipboard this year" crowd. But none of that is the case now. This is where the rubber meets the road, hoss.
I don't see the problem here. He's saying that he knows he had a bad game, but he is trying his best and hopes to improve. He's seriously getting ripped for saying that?
