Unless you were there, you can't honestly know that for certain. No, neither can I by that same standard, but there's obviously enough "evidence" to suggest he's not entirely "innocent". This Lowrey character seems to be a trouble maker and a bad habbit of finding himself in bad places at the wrong times....but a bloodied face is a bloodied face and if you've crossed the line in giving him those injuries, well, how can you be innocent of everything? Right now, I just want the guy to get a speedy and fair trial...because IF there ISN'T enough evidence to convict, then he deserves to be re-instated to the team (just not automatically given back his starting position--Lee's playing far too well).
I do think there is no major disagreement among fans that JJ should be let off quickly if he was unjustly pulled into this legal mess, and reinstated. If so, then there's the more intriging question of deciding who should be the starter QB, now that Lee has been finally given the chance to show on the field what he is made of ,and capable of. As far as Miles is concerned, he has to decide which QB will give him the best chance to win. With JJ being out of the practice loop for a month now, he would need some time to get ramped up to compete against JL for the starter position; not to mention that God knows how long it would take the "speedy" trial to materialize. I would guess at least half the season would be gone if he were to be reinstated into the team, by which time Lee would prob have better entrenched himself in the offense. It would be a very tall order for JJ to unseat Lee, and he may see himself playing a backup role, like the combo MF/RP in the 2007 team.
Do not care? Its Lees team and it is what it is.... JJ would have to earn his spot back if he even comes back. Lee and Met the whole way. I'm better with that myself.
I agree. We are talking about a young mans life, not football. If he is innocent, he needs a resolution. Or at least to get the wheels of justice moving towards one. I find it astounding some would seem to rather have him trapped in an incompetent (at best) legal hell, even if innocent, just to keep him out as qb. There is a lot more than fb at stake here.
REINSTATE JORDAN JEFFERSON!!!!!! WHY? BECAUSE WE AINT BEATING ALABAMA WITH THIS OFFENSE! JEFFERSONS ABILITY TO RUN AND "THREATEN" THE OUTSIDE PERIMETER OF A DEFENSE CREATES MATCHUP PROBLEMS FOR A DC! WITH LEE THE CBS CAN SQUAT ON THE MEDIUM AND DEEP STUFF BECAUSE LEE ISNT A THREAT TO RUN FOR 40 FREAKIN YDS PEOPLE! LEE MAY BE A BETTER PASSER THAN JJ BUT NOT BY MUCH BECAUSE JJ NEVER REALLY THREW INTS THAT MUCH, BUT JJ IS SUCH A DANGEROUS RUNNER IT CREATES A WHOLE NEW SET OF OPTIONS FOR STUD THAT MOST LSU FANS CANT REALLY SEE!
Miles has stated clearly that once the legal mess is cleared up JJ will be reinstated and will finish out the year. I hope that is sooner rather than later for JJ’s sake. The more you read about that fight, the more it sounds like BS, but it will have to be decided by a Judge, not fans. However, for those of you who think he will automatically be a starter – think again. JJ has missed a month of practice and a quarter of the season’s games. He will have to win the chance to start and it will be an uphill battle for him. Right now JL is our starting QB - we are winning – JL and the offence are improving with every game – the team is responding to JL - and JL is frankly doing well and remember, he led the team to victories in prior years – remember Bama, remember Florida. ldskule:
well said. and realistically, even if the motion for a hearing is granted, i dont see that it would be till mid to late october at the absolute earliest before there would be a ruling from a hearing. unless things move a lot faster than i think they would. if jj comes back, i dont expect anything but a few snaps here and there in mop up duty to get his feet back under him (pun NOT intended) to help him decide what direction he wants to go next. i think that a big outcome for this hearing is not only to get criminal charges dismissed and clear him that way, but dismissal will take a lot of the ammo in a civil suit against jj. which i still believe is coming unless the kid is cleared without a trial. this goes way beyond football for jj. if innocent, i hope he is cleared without a trial.
What a load of BULL****. And I don't want my QB being a dangerous runner....That's what we have RUNNING BACKS FOR. I want my QB to be like a surgeon in the passing game. JJ is NOT. Reinstate JJ so he can find his rightful place on the team, THE BENCH!
YUP ... we don't need no stinkin running QB. It's a rather interesting turn of events. JJ wouldn't have ever been the starter had Lee not got hurt in 2008. Once JJ became the starter, the samed dogged stumborness that would have kept Lee as the starter, kept a grossly underperforming JJ as starter. As a result, we've suffered through two years of no passing game. Now ... JJ shows some bad judgement and finds himself in a pinch, and Lee is returned to his rightful starting position .... and whallah ... we have a passing game again. People can say what they want .... but we HAD a passsing game in 2008, picks aside, ...we've had NO passing game for the last two years ... and now we have a passing game. Me being a Scientists ..... one looks for the causative variable. That would be the QB. Crowton's exit may contribute a tad, but scientifically, Crowton was here in 2007-2008 when we had a passing game, so it is minor. I do HOPE that JJ is found innocent .... or that the charges are dropped. But I don't see CLM letting a person, who innocent or not, who has shown such bad judgement returning to be the "leader" of the offensive team.
