I don't understand this. We're risking JLee's psyche by keeping him benched to save JJ's psyche? JLee goes down and our season is already over JJ or not. We'd be 4-2 without Lee. The only thing giving equal snaps between JJ and JLee and keeping JJ the starter is doing is hurting the speed at which JLee can progress as a QB.
But with Lee, Ridley, or even Blue, Ware, or Ford are very capable short yardage ball carriers while also keeping defenses accounting for quick slants, screens (flat, and middle), and fades to Toliver, Randle, or Peterson. GOD I can't wait for Lee to develop a confidence in working D Peterson. So, I still don't buy JJ seeing the field. If R Shepard had JJ's snaps at running the option/draw/wildcat pkges, no one would even know JJ's name.
Technically Miles is correct. In the Ole Miss game, we should NOT have spiked the ball. In the Tennessee game, we SHOULD have spiked the ball.
It's obvious to anyone that "technically" he's correct. But this is not where the outrage comes from. It's exactly the same in that Miles totally fumbled in managing the clock at the end of these games, as well as others that didn't cost us. For Miles to even make that statement tells me everything of where JJ comes up with junk like "We Fo, and 0, why should I be worried". Also, Miles was WAY too quick to get that out of his mouth. Reminded me of grade school girls arguing over who saw the new boy 1st. It's also why I believe JJ hasn't matured what so ever.
Just to be clear here you left out the rest of Ridley's quote... “He got a little shocked at the end, but he knew where we needed to go and he found it, so I forgave him for it.” Not a huge deal but it does put Ridley's comments in context. If you read it as it was printed and probably told, he was joking about missing a TD and picking on JJ a little. Ridley did not appear to be throwing JJ under the proverbial bus.
Not one, I believe. Can someone please point out how many touchdown passes our starting quarterback has thrown in the last five wins?
