I've already debunked this theory that JJ gives us better chances in the redzone. Statistics just don't back it up.
I am not that naive. Some may have felt that way but not the case in a majority sense. It may of added to it but there were threads all over other boards gathering fans to Boo JJ before the game even happened. It wasn't an only if he was in the redzone suggestion. Articles were even written about it prior to the game. We didn't boo Lee because of the timing of the game either it is just that we didn't want him on the field after his performances. I know LSU fans don't want to hear it but we boo for the wrong reasons often. What is really funny is that the majority of fans who just didn't want JJ to see the field ever again should have been cheering when he got in because that was an official answer that he will not be redshirted and back on the team next year. Another topic that was flowing prior to the game. This was no surprise due to the timing of the swap. It was happening no matter when he entered the game. And planned by many.
I was sitting in the West, and the boos were much more prominent from the SW corner than from the students. Maybe its because they saw it first. I don't know. Hypothetical - Say JJ was was the starter, was injured against Oregon, and has been out for the past 5 weeks. Do the boos come out if he is inserted right there for his first action? I would still be upset with Miles for the decision to pull his starting QB who just drove the team down the field. For me, it was all about timing, not that he played the kid.
Believe what you will, and I imagine it is true in some cases, but I believe many were upset at the timing. It would have been less of a big deal had we first played him when he got his on series. There still would have been boos, and I probably still would have cringed, but that's more because many of us feel that Les has a higher opinion of JJ than he should. I feel like Les has screwed up the QB situation since the Perrilloux debacle, and would have continued had JJ not been arrested. I'm worried that Les will screw up the QB situation again. I think having JJ back on the team can be a positive if used properly, but many are worried that Les won't use him properly.
I keep reading "I would be upset with Miles blah blah blah"...that isn't the point. Just like in 2008, and again in 2010, fans boo, claiming they are really booing the coaches. Guess what geniuses...it doesn't come across that way. They may have been booing Miles, but they were booing Miles for putting Jordan Jefferson on the field if so. FWIW, they were booing Jordan Jefferson, period. Idiots. At the very least, you can count on Ricky Jefferson going elsewhere. Factor in the other recruits on hand today, and you can likely add a couple more of them going elsewhere, too. DON'T BOO PLAYERS IN TIGER STADIUM UNLESS THEY PLAY ON THE OTHER TEAM!!
