If I may, your last post raises some very good points MM and that is really what is at the bottom of it. Its really difficult to get a good pulse on what the voting public will do come november even with the strong lean towards your man. I for one don't agree with his polotics but thats another issue all together. Because of the fallout from trinity I think a lot of people are waiting for him to somehow prove his love for the country if that makes any sense. Its only an opinion but I think many of them feel betrayed in a sense. The Michelle Obama quote is one that I believe was taken out of context but not all will be able to see it that way due to education levels and just plain not getting the whole story. I hate admitting that I think it was out of context but it is what it is. For me it truly has nothing to do with color as I'd love for JC Watts to be in this thing instead of the fish I will be forced to pull the lever for. I just think the coutry is either waiting for the other foot to drop, OR for some classic Billy Clinton saxaphone playing smooth talk to make them all think he is in their corner again.:thumb:
I am glad you can admit that those words were taking out of context. Thats important, but you are right, in the general he will have to prove somethings out and reinvent himself. For myself I am specificaly proud of Obamas nomination and campaign in a historical context, but its just not about him, If it was a woman or a conservative minority, i would still be proud of the threshole we as a country have crossed. So all here who dont agree with me or dont like me because my political stance, I am an American just like you, who has struggle and strived for this dream, like every decent person on this board. :thumb: Which definitely includes you Shane.
So, to steer this back on topic. McCain is right now making a speech about this election, and he's in New Orleans. Politicains have no real reason to be here, so what's the deal. If tonight goes how some predict, the dems will have a candidate and a Veep. The GOP should announce one soon.
I will admit I don't know that much about Jindal other than what I've heard from the talking heads. If he is everything they say he is then I hope McCain doesn't offer the ticket to him. I'd rather him wait it out than tarnish his name with what is sure to be an ugly 4 years regardless of who the hell wins this thing.
I think he had scheduled fund raisers in the area. Though you are right, it probably would have made more sense to give the speech in a battleground state that he needs.
