almost immediately? by my count it took him 47 days to change his position. he did what any career politician does, read the tea leaves, saw which way the wind was blowing, etc

i've not referred to him as a racist (although some have referred to me as such simply for daring to question obama's credentials) but do think without question that he did the politically expedient thing.

i'm judging him by his actions, not someone else's words.

Buck Weaver of the black sox scandal used that excuse till the day he died.

So Obama appoints these guys to his presidential advisory committee and doesn't agree with their politics? Okay,-1 in the ole judgement column.

I do think Obama is a great orator. He is in a class with JfK ,Martin Luther King,Winston Churchill ,FDR,and Reagan.I suppose Hitler would have to be considered a great orator too, although i can't speak german .He sure seemed to get people worked up though.

I just don't think being a great orator is enough to make anyone a great President. He seems to always say the right things, but his actions leave a little to be desired.

King's" i have a dream speech" has to be the greatest speech of all time.I get goose bumps every time i hear that.

Definitely one of the greatest speeches, also with some JFK and RK speeches as well.

On March 13, you say he failed to disown Wright, which is accurate. Obama made no statement on the day the story broke. But the next day (March 14) Obama stated:

Where do you get 47 days?

Actually it was the African American Religious Leadership Committee, a loose group of supporters associated with the campaign. Spiritual advisors, not his political advisors.

I also have issues with Obama, relating to his lack of a track record to judge him on. He's never been an executive, so we don't know the kind of people he appoints to decision-making jobs. We don't know how he responds to intense pressure. I just ain't buying the guilt by association thing.

    Which actions?

Look, I don't think we should elect someone just because they are eloquent either. But his oratory is not the argument. The argument is whether Obama is a racist, marxist, black liberation revolutionary that thinks the US is responsible for 9/11 and God Damns America . . . just because one of his friends uses that kind of rhetoric.

Back to the title of the thread...I hope he remains governor instead of running with McCain.

Maybe having a President from Louisiana will help us someday but Jindal will have other opportunities. We thought having Bill Clinton and W. Bush from neighboring states would help LA but it really didn't.

We needed a lot of help in this state before Katrina & Rita and even more now. We're known for Edwin Edwards, Kathleen Blanco, Ray Nagin, Eddie Jordan, Marc Morial, and host of other losers that have precluded the state from receiving outside assistance or having the ability to attract new business.

After 100 years, we finally elected a Republican Senator. I'm starting to think we should always have one Democrat & one Republican holding our two seats.

For years we accomplished nothing and that includes Mary Landrieu. When Vitter was elected it seemed to light a fire under her rear. Now they're almost in competition to see who can achieve the most. I think that's a good thing for the state and we're probably getting more from our two Senators and Governor than any of us have ever seen in this state.

We have a long way to go. North Louisiana may not want to hear this but we need a strong New Orleans to help prosperity in the state. Unfortunately Nagin's "Chocolate City" and 9/11 "Hole in the Ground" comments will continue to handcuff the city until he's out of office.

Eddie Jordan's resignation was huge for New Orleans. (He didn't even know what a drug test kit was. :nope:)

Bush, Blanco, and Nagin will soon be just a bad memory for Katrina. Hopefully our new "leaders" will do a better job.

lol, not at all. You win some, you lose some, I still equate it to success, when your in the final 4 , for six years.

But hey, maybe I can come by your house and pick some cotton and shine your boots for you.

It will keep me off of welfare.
