Well, lack of experience and youth certainly aren't disqualifying (as long as he's over 35). It's really all about winning the election - if he motivates a high base turnout (which is the GOP's only real hope), then he's the man. For his own sake, I hope he doesn't do it even if offered. Like Red says, he needs to be a successful governor. Hell, he could live another entire lifetime and still only be a year older than McCain.
Let's just hope that Jindal's career as Louisiana's governor is good enough that he becomes President one day. Maybe it's niave, but I believe Jindal meant what he said on Leno & realizes the position he's in with Louisiana right now. He's still got plenty of time to run for President after a good 8 years as our governor.
Boy, for an idiot, Bush seems to have lots of minions. Amazing. I'm betting it's all due to Karl Rove and Scooter Libby - and f'in Cheney!
This statement makes absolutely no sense. There is no new republican party as the party is a mess right now. On top of that, Jindal is more old school and is nothing like George Bush. Jindal is a true conservative and Bush could not be considered anything close to that.
Jindal will not be McCain's VP. He just got elected governor and he needs to accomplish something in Louisiana before he even begins to think of another gig.
And he's doing the exact same thing the republicans in the legislature jumped Blanco for, trying to raise the cap on spending. And I'm disapointed in him a little right now, he should have vetoed the ethics reform when all the loopholes came to light.
You don't veto good legislation because it is not perfect. You pass what you can and deal with the imperfections later.
