    Not really.

By the numbers, the Dems lost more support than the Republicans.

If the Republicans lost the same about again and the Dems did as well, a Republican will be your next president.

Now are those numbers based solely on which voters were lost, or do those numbers have voters gained as a part also. Speaking for Obama, I voted for him in 08, but didn't vote for him in 2012. Say my little brother was a first time voter and did vote for him, am I still counted as a loss or is it a push? Does that make sense?

I am just contending there are 12 million votes up for grabs.

Your own omission is that you "lost" support for Obama. The Dems losses from 2008 are much greater than this Republican exodus you are painting.

For example, the gap was 10 million in 2008. It is now 2-3 million.

To me, this means the republicans still have most of their base. While the Dems won, somehow they lost 10 million voters. Why? (by lost I am referring to support, 10 million less didn't vote)

IN MY OPINION, it seems the Republicans have an easier road.

The reason I didn't vote is because of my location.

That's not the point I was making. Yes, those candidates represented the republicans and democrats. But different candidates appeal to different people. You are voting for a person, not a party although the party does heavily influence the person. None of it matters because the republicans are trying to shift gears to appeal to minority and women voters so we'll never know if they could have won on the current platform. I just think it's a little much to say they had no chance when they lost a close election.

Until things change, you can. Hillary will carry the blacks and Hispanics in 2016. Who is out there that is going to take them away?

By the numbers they lost the election. Any other numbers are wishful thinking.

No one, but do you really think Hillary will get as many african american votes as Obama.

Look, I'm not disputing that the republicans would have a hard time winning a presidential election as things stand. But to say it's impossible because BO beat MR is not correct. I've seen the shift from republican to democrat, to republican and back to democrat just in my short lifetime. This stuff is fluid.

But your the dick. We were clearly talking about the future which hasn't happened yet.

    Nice try.

By the numbers support was down across the board. My statements had nothing to do with who won the election. It was about support with regards to both parties. As referenced by LaSalles comments on Republican support. Please try to keep up.

Remove your dick from Obama's ass and understand this topic in which I had with LaSalle had nothing to do with disputing why Obama won.

    Bill Did.

Absolutely. But the Republicans have serious problems to get past, not the least of which is dissent within the ranks. Being out of tough with ethnics is huge and being behind the times on sceince denial and social issues hurts them, too. For all their talk, their economic track record is horrible.

The democtrats will have to screw up tremendously to keep from extending their lead over the GOP.
