LaTech's problem is they are in a league with teams as far away as Hawaii. Not getting into CUSA had to kill their travel budget. I'd think they would probably be best served to go to the Sunbelt and dominate there. The Sunbelt is a joke of a conference. LaTech would dominate in it.
I Assume you are from Winnfield and would know more about Tech, but that is just a flame against Tech and none of what you just said is true. They have a problem with the athletic director, even at 3-10 or whatever they were this year they still averaged about the same amount of fans, they do not recruit against ULM or Grambling, and they also started mostly freshmen and sophmores this year. I think you will be seeing some big changes at Tech and the first one will be a commitment to the new coach whoever it may be, and a new commitment from the president to Tech athletics.
