That is a very good point excluding maybe throwing out the hint that something isn't what others believe to be true when you know it isn't. I know Terry has some people he can talk to and I don't question his credibility.

Funny you would mention him cause he was the one I thought of when I read the post below.

That's exactly what he did after telling us, WAY BACK, that "Saban will be the coach at Bama". When he was questioned as to "How" he knew, he did what I would have done too......took a lil vacation from the board.

I didn't question his credibility cause red had told a poster Terry was credible and I took it on red's word, initially and, since, have learned that to be true

I'm not questioning his credibility, just his tactics.

Tirk, once again, you've outdone yourself. You are a truly entertaining individual.

Here's where we will have to agree to disagree. It's one thing to see speculation (which is nothing more than rumors and innuendo) and leave it alone and it is another to see it, try to inform those caught up in it that is a futile chase so they won't get caught up in something that they'll end up repeating as some tailgate and suddenly rumor has become 'net facts.

I see it as "letting those know what isn't the truth" a lot better than seeing people getting caught up in a bunch of BS.

To be fair, I never said "Saban will be the coach." All I said was the thought Bama fans were being delusional was very far off base.

    'preciate the thought though. :thumb:

Nothing personal, I don't know you and you don't know me, but I definitely disagree. Telling someone they are wrong while adding that you can't come out and just tell the truth only adds fuel to the fire. If you can't lay out the truth I see nothing gained by trying to shoot down the rumors one at a time, it only leads to a new rumor. JMO

Gee, this thread seems to have veered far from Coach Jim Wells’ career. Maybe we should pull some of the post and put them in a new thread entitled “The Inside Man”.

All kidding aside, lighten up folks, this is just an internet message board. We all have opinions and this is a great place to express them. Some posters appear very knowledgeable about sports and have soundly based opinions (CParso for example, really seems to be well informed about the recruiting scene). But unless a poster is actually quoting someone or some authoritative publication, you really should assume it is just an opinion and nothing more. If someone is billing their “opinion” as authoritative or “inside” information, that is just their opinion of their opinion (I know that is a double no-no of some sort, but I don’t really care).

So again, lighten up, have fun – hell, watching all of us post like we are experts (me included) is half the fun of this deal.

Just an additional note to those who respect Wells. He's said it publically this week, and it is one of those "answers to prayers" kind of stories.

His mothers situation there in Louisiana has improved greatly over the last few weeks. Great news!!

Sorry I missed this PT. Gaspard is a Head Coach in Louisiana, at Northwestern State.
