Terry, I really dislike you because of some of your comments. I'm not stupid and I understand I don't know all the facts. And Buddy, you don't either, no one can know what anyone is really thinking and doing. You should know more then most people on this board about Bama. But you don't know everything. Your posts are very arrogant at times which makes me and other folks dislike you and Bama that much more when we read them. My take on Coach Wells is rational without facts. I financially contribute to this Discussion Group to learn more about LSU College sports and other college teams and how they might affect LSU. I love LSU and will continue to always support our great University financially and vocally. You've also tried to undermine my credibility by bringing attention to the fact that I'm a new member with few posts compared to others. If I did not have thick skin I would have left this board by now and taken my support with me. It's a real drag to get attacked by someone frequently from another school on an LSU board. I wonder how many fringe folks that come in here and leave because you monitor and attack others on this board. But thats not my business, I'm just here to learn and share thoughts. What you say and do is your business. I just don't have to like or take it.
Here's the gist... There are another group of brothers at the Capstone, one in football, one in baseball. It just so happens that I'm very good friends with the family, one of whom used to be a talent scout for the Reds. It also just happens to be the case that this uncle is very, very, close friends with Coach Wells. I don't consider my friendship with Wells as close as his, but, our relationship is one where we've talked together for years. I see him on campus and it is far from a situation where I have to re-introduce myself. So, when I say it's best to leave this situation alone instead of speculating about it...that comment is coming from understanding the background of the situation. Rude? OK. If that is the way it is being interpreted so be it...but, it wasn't the case. Therefore, the comment, "no disrespect intended..." I've speculated on things revolving around LSU on this forum before and have been more than willing to admit it is an opinion, and just that. Opinion. The word obvious isn't how the conversation or comments have ever started. Cool? :thumb:
In the absence of the real truth people will speculate as to what that truth is, it's human nature and is not going to change. If you can't tolerate the speculation you have two choices, let the truth be known or walk away from the conversation.
I have known Jim Wells since his days in Natchitoches at Northwestern State. He is a good, stand up guy and a very good college baseball coach. I remember how disappointing it was not long ago when he was catching lots of heat from some Alabama fans because the team was having a down season. I was one of the LSU fans who had hoped Jim would come back to Louisiana and coach at LSU instead of Smoke, but it was not to be. Anyway, I think it is good for Jim, the SEC and the Western Division of the SEC that Jim returned to the college coaching ranks. The competition in the SEC and in the Western Division in particular, will mean we have great baseball to enjoy for years to come. Best wishes to Jim and his family. ldskule:
Having inside information is a two edged sword. It's nice to be privy to the information but if you give out information given to you in confidence that source will soon dry up. Kind of like a cop / informant relationship. The best choice is to walk away.
I agree it's usually best kept to yourself, but you definitely shouldn't get on the internet boast about how no one knows anything but you because you have inside information and than say you can't reveal that information.
