Isn't Turner projected as a FA??? I wonder if these guys know what that really means................I am flying this month with a guy whose son was the 8th pick in the last MLB draft, he was willing and did accept almost 1 mil less than that "slot" should get. Even though he still got a 2.75 signing bonus he has paid over 1 mil in income tax! Free Agents in the NFL don't get paid anything more than per diem until they make the team!!! Their signing bonus' are usually less than 20K.
Honestly, though, what is there that Miles can do? The allure of the NFL and the $$$ have very little to do with the school or coach that the player plays for. This is more a byproduct of early playing time, which is an important factor for recruits, which keeps the good ones coming in and leaving early. Other than not playing guys early (which still wouldn't guarantee that they won't leave early), what can Les be reasonably expected to do to deter them?
Players leaving early help recruiting if those players get drafted. Recruits want to go to schools where NFL scouts take notice. I think Hill's decision was the right decision for him and I can't help but think that if he returned it had the potential to make LF second guess his decision to come to LSU. The reason I say that is because everyone projected Hill to leave for the draft up until the last coupole of weeks. I'm guessing that Fornette's decision to come to LSU was influenced to a great degree by the assumption that Hill was leaving and Fornette would start as a true freshman. If Hill changed his mind and decided to come back, it would have made it easier for teams like Alabama to convince Fornette to flip before his LOI was signed and faxed in.
Doubtful. Bama still has TJ Yeldon, phenom Derrick Henry and Kenyon Drake. Add Fournette and that would be the epitome of a crowded backfield.
