1. "Winners want the ball in their hands when the game is on the line" - The Replacements

JJ definitely has some growing to do as a QB. Hopefully he'll continue to get better all season.
  2. That's exactly how I interpreted it.
  3. Yeah, flip the script and you'd have a lot of unhappy campers had we kicked and missed a 51/52 yarder. I would have been in that camp.
  4. i don't take to heart the quotes in any movie in which keanu reeves is a football star.

  5. Personally, I think his comment reflects his assessment of what was going to work to put our team in best position to win the game. He weighed the pro's and con's of the situation and felt that running the ball with CS was the best option with the least risks, IMHO. I think it shows maturation actually, not lack of confidence.
  6. You can say whatever you want after the winning play, and that makes you "intelligent" . What if Scott got stopped ( UGA defender almost tackled him down on that play). Well, glad LSU won this one, but we're gonna lose if we keep playing like we did in the first 5 games.
  7. I really think his issues are more with the Line and the pressure that has constantly been breathing on him. I think ( dont know ) that he is hanging on to the ball to give the receivers time to either go on deeper or come back for the ball. You heard that one commentator say all day how JJ looked more like a passer than a runner. ( not that commentators are all that but... )

Only thing he is guilty of is trying to give his receivers time... I think he wants to deliver the ball, not run a busted play and that gets him in sack territory. He'd also rather take a sack than turn it over. Maybe Miles has been whispering in his ear, who knows? I have seen him throw some balls away though, to his credit. We certainly dont need to get back to the pick sixes...

didnt most of the sacks come in the second half? Give UGA some credit for putting more pressure on in the 2nd half. Although we should have picked it up no excuse but still.

I think if you give him a clean pocket with plenty of time, he would amaze some people. Unfortunately we dont have that luxury. or we dont yet anyway.

Bottom line is it all starts with the O line. Even a half azz QB will do better with alot of protection. JJ was running for his life alot out there. Even ULL was pressuring us. Thats where the run game went. You get that O line blocking and the run game pops right back up where it was.

they played better this game than the previous 4.

JJ is doing fine to be 19 years old and green.

LOS is where it all starts or ends.

but Ill take 5-0 anyday... :geaux:
  8. But he didn't and we haven't.

  9. Scott ran for a touchdown on SECOND down. We still had third to either get a first down or move the ball closer to field goal range.

    :rolleye33:
  10. My thoughts here?
Anyway I'm amazed how people spin a positive to a negative.

I will have to admit I couldn't believe they ran that play again and I REALLY couldn't believe it worked that time!
    I was like no-no-no, yes, yes, yes!
