if you've followed him since high school then you know he seemed to be a much better passer then.. We're looking at 4 years without any qb actually looking like they could play the part in the NFL, a lot of that has to do with no qb coaching and this year both JJ and JL look better.. JJ does have a strong arm, his mechanics can be improved.. I think a team is going to pick him up but I'm not saying he'll ever grasp the play book, he has the physical abilities so I think someone will give him a chance.
LSU football: Jordan Jefferson to go down as triumphant, resilient leader | NOLA.com Read this and you will change your mind on Jefferson and the NFL.
Just who was screaming that jj would go to the NFL after last years cotton bowl? I spend most of my down time on this forum and have read every flippin thread on here for the last year and a half. Who was screaming jj was going pro and who is everybody ? Everyone said jj does well after a month to prepare. Everyone said he should do better with krag coaching him up. I don't remember a single person, not even the greatest jj supporters, saying he was an accurate enough passer to play in the NFL. It's jj's ability to run the ball that saves him and covers for his lack of passing skills. If he wouldve played tight end ever since coming here he could have played in the NFL I would bet. Jj wouldve been a damn good tight end. Damn good.
Not talking about physical ability. I tell you what, whenever you guys get a chance talk to him and tell me he is the sharpest tool in the shed. You can see in his eyes the house is empty. He will always be a Tiger to me and i will always pull for him. He is a great kid but not a NFL prospect. Talk about getting your panties in a bunch.
He's certainly better than Jamie Howard and Marcus Randall, but also a host of dudes from the early 90's. Jeez, we carted out guys like Sol Graves and Chad Loup and Casey Claussen, for goodness sake, not to mention Andrew Hatch from Harvard. He does NOT deserve to be among the best, but neither with the worst. FWIW, he's always reminded me of Herb Tyler the most. We loved Herb because he came in and did a good job @ QB when we hadn't had a good one in years, but JJ is a better athlete than he was. And if JJ turns, panics, and runs--so be it...he tends to gain positive yardage.
He reminds me more of Marcus Randall. Only difference is Jefferson looks at his primary receiver; Randall dropped back looking to run FIRST. :hihi: JJ will not play QB in the NFL. The game has still not slowed down for him. It's a cognitive problem, apparently.
I think he is good enough to win it for us. He is a decent college athlete, but playing on Sunday is a stretch.
