I think JL played well enough, consistently enough to successfully rebut your claim. He wasn't pressured until the AL game though. JJ didn't pass much, either. We'll see BOTH in the backfield before it's over.
Miles is going to use JJ for as long as it works. Jlee is the throwing QB. As long as Miles can steam roll teams on the ground and not risk INTs he's going to do. This isn't new. Last year was the same. As long as we're winning we use JJ, once we're losing we as lee to save us. Miles is going to ride this train until it makes it to the station or it falls off the track. I do think I understand Lee's trepidation more now. As soon as he made a mistake that was Miles excuse to go full safe mode. Fortunely we might not have to worry again until the NCG.
correct, that's my rule of thumb get it right the first time so it doesn't make you look like you're talking out the side of your ass
Reading this entire thread makes me believe that many are searching hard for something to pounce on Miles for should we not win the BCS title. A few have even stated how loud they will scream if things don't go right; I have a feeling that if we were to lose while putting 50 points on the board that some people would still blame the loss on LM's decision to start JJ. I'm glad JJ has gotten so many snaps as experience is so important too the entire offense. When you have qb's with such different skill sets the offense needs reps, especially on the options. And I think that now the offense will be on sync no matter who is in the game.
The only thing that worries me about CLM, is the possibility that he does not switch the plan if the plan is not working. That's what happened last year. He should have pulled jj for a couple of series, because he was spiraling. If he shows the same judgment as he did in bama we will be fine. If jj is smoking like he has the last two games, let him keep on. If jj is stinking like asthma year, pull him and let lee have sever series.
Alabama game was proof. He pulled the plug on Lee and it was pretty early in the game. SabanFan is correct, Les Miles had made ALL the right moves all year long. He has done the best job as head coach out of anyone in college football. I questioned how conservative we were in the MSU game with Jarrett Lee not being allowed to let it loose til the 4th quarter. But now that I look back at things, it was the correct thing to do, bringing him along slowly and getting his confidence going, baby step by baby step.
I've read a lot of posts on this forum and you and one other poster are the only ones I have seen mention anything about race. I haven't heard anything about race when talking to people either. Mostly it's anger over supposed mistreatment of JL because of how loyal he has been to LSU. I agree that benching JL seems really unfair but life is unfair sometimes and JJ seems to have solved his accuracy issues which was JL's only advantage over JJ in the past well that and quicker decisions, which aren't always a good thing. This is going to end up being the best season EVER for LSU let's enjoy the ride, never know how long it will take to have another like this one. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
What's new. Blacks can never be criticized. It's never their fault. It's always about someone being racist. I've been a Lee supporter but I've seen that JJ brings a little more to the table with his running ability so I can understand Miles' decision to play him.
