Why would Butch be fired? No one knows that Butch will be fired if Brady is.

Plus Skip will not let him be fired b/c of Butch's fatherly figure towards Tasmin, plus all the players love Butch. But Tasmin could just go to the NBA and this whole discussion is for nothing, but if he was smart he would go to college somewhere. Ask Sebastian Telfor what he thinks.

Because coaches bring in their own staffs.... What was unclear about that in my post?

Each player thinks they have what it takes to play in the NBA. One particular example isn't going to stop HS kids from taking the money.

    So sorry Andrew....

Ladies and Gentlemen, your new LSU Men's Basketball Coach, TigerRagAndrew!! *applause ensues*

Great to know that you know exactly what the new coach, if we get one, will do once he/she comes in.

it would be stupid to make a coaching change decision because of a recruit. that might have been different years ago when players didnt regularly leave after 1 or 2 yrs. tasmin could come for 1 yr do well and leave.

i dont think skip will fire brady after this season.

bilas is wrong. uf isnt a bubble team. they are in barring a meltdown. they will finish with 19 wins going into sec tourney.

i'll say it again. lsu should watch out for finishing to good in sec west. 4-2 in remaining games with a win over msu will probably put us second. even 4-2 with a loss to msu may put us second in sec west. then no "easy" first round sec tourn. game. in a nutshell, to get two sec tourney wins after having a bye will be very tough for this team unless someone is upset.

oh, i knew there was something else i wanted to say. the USM loss is very bad, the UH and WV losses are bad but atleast they were early. the committee will always take season trends into acct.

in addition to the obvious importance of our remaining sec games. how our opponents do may make the difference. it seems like the committee groups your wins based on the rpi of the opponent-1-25, 26-50, 51-100, 101->. i think this is stupid, it should be mathematical. anyway, several of our opponents are near the cusp between these rpi groups--ohio st.#50, ark #54, vandy #47, msu #28

a stat that looks pretty good for a bubble team is that lsu is 3-3 against rpi 1-50 teams

other teams near our rpi of 48 and their record against rpi 1-50
    vandy 1-8
    colorado 1-6
    stanford 3-4
    oregon 1-6
    minn 2-5

tonight's game is huge not so much because msu is a good team (rpi #28), but because they are good and its on the road. a road win against a good team will go a long way. with it, and a decent finish, were in.

You've made it evidently clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. Thanks a lot for your sarcasm, it really made my day.

And before you bring up Miles keeping Jimbo, Searles and Moffatt, please remember how much of an aberration that was.

Thanks for your great input, your stats is exactly what...

Jay Bilas was referring to when talking about Florida and LSU being bubble teams. Acccording to Bilas, Florida has a good record but an awful record versus 1-50 as gumborue has pointed out. LSU has a better record vs. 1-50 but the losses to USM, UH and Tennessee look bad.
I think the Tigers at best finish out the regular season 3-3. They struggle mightily on the road and eventhough two of the three road games are at Auburn and Ole Miss, this team just seems to suck on the road. That fact means they really must win at home against UF, Bama and Vandy which the Tigers are capable of doing, but I certainly wouldn't lay money on it happening.

Thanks, I thought it was a great thread too!

And it seems like many others thought the same as well.:thumb:
