I read here that no HT winner as QB ever one the NC. When was the last time a HT winner was on the NC winning team
quoted by Tiger8 ......................................................................................................... this could have been the best thing for LSU. I was really hoping for Jason White to win the Heisman. Why? No Heisman trophy winning QB has ever won the National Championship. And that streak will continue. ........................................................................................................ I can't wait to see this heisman winner on his back side.
There have actually been two Heisman trophy winning QBs over the past 10 years. Charlie Ward in 1993 and Danny Weurffel in 1996. Two recent ones that have failed are obviously Weinke in 2000 and Crouch in 2001. Boomer Sooner!!
I agree. Not to take anything away from Jason White, but there were a lot of QB's out there that put up some pretty impressive numbers. Symons at Texas Tech had more TD's than White. Manning is just as prolific and IS the reason for Ole Miss' success. But Fitzgerald was in a class of his own--blowing away the competition at the WR position. His accomplishments are far more impressive, IMO, than what White did this season.
Miami has the best shut down corners in America ... and they double teamed Fitz ... You're dismissed HOMER .... again
So, 26 yards is still 26 yards. Did Miami put two "shut down corners" on him or did they simply provide over the top help with the Safety like what occurs to most other WRs? Bottom line, 3 catches and 26 yards is still a non-Heismanesque game. I heard the Miami secondary had quoted Fitz as asking them to lay off him so he can get some catches. If true, that would seem he was more concerned about his numbers rather than his team winning. Does that mean you are "dismissed... again?" Boomer Sooner!!
