I cannot stand when people who are fans of "traditional" championship teams somehow use that as a means of why they will win again.
Living in Phoenix I had to hear that crap over and over from Yankees fans for the World Series. All we were told over and over was that the Yankees have 20 some odd championships, we have been there, done that. Mystique and aura, yada yada yada.
We all know how that world series turned out. Their PAST accomplishments meant shit in that world series. Come to think about it, it didnt mean shit in this world series either!! So keep thumping your chest and polishing your trophies. Jan. 4th is right around the corner.
I know you were asked Leigh, but plenty of other Sooner fans have used that crutch on other threads.

 

Actually, I was just answering the question put to me in the post above. It is not a crutch. It is obviously something we are proud of. I cannot help what other fans do or say.

Does that mean we win the game? Of course not. Does it mean we have an edge? No way. What matters is the game plans by our staff and the execution of those plans by our players.

What's so funny is ramah's quoting NCAA bylaws...

Guess he chooses to pay attention to the ones he likes, and ignores the ones he doesn't...

He helps LSU kids get into school, yet says he has never been, and never was a booster...Yet in the same breath says that his "relationship" with LSU ended with Gerry DiNardo...

He then goes on to say that he has helped LSU recruit players, and also that he has "broken down recruiting" and pays close attention to it...

Someone produces NCAA bylaws that say that if you are associated or help to recruit players AT ANY TIME, you are therefore a booster and retain that title permanently...and he says that can't be right, and then scoffs at the rules...

He then goes on to act like he's a bigshot because he knows of some guy that sets lines for casino's in Vegas (even though he can't spell the man's name), and then keeps crowing about how he recruits players, and how since he's so good at gambling, he'll treat himself to Calimari in Antigua...

As vivid and creative of an imagination as I have, only the mind of a diabolically dumb individual like Ramah would come up with all those posturings, pontifications, and hyperbole...

For some reason, though, you can't stand to ignore him...He's too stupid to not pay attention to...Levity is such a precious commodity in our times, anyone who brings it to us in such a brashly idiotic and unabashedly ignorant manner deserves our attention, and our laughter...

Remember, Ramah, it's AT you, not WITH you...
