Jason White granted another year of eligibility by NCAA

I'm not making fun of the young man, just making fun of those who would hold him up to the light and say that scouts are drooling over him...

Scouts drool over former LSU opponents at signal caller like Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, and other top notch signal callers like BJ Symmons and Phillip Rivers...

Jason's a guy that's going to hold a clipboard when his collegiate playing days are over...He's lucky to get another year, because quite frankly, his 15 minutes will be over when he's done playing college ball.

12-1 are we both this year...We won our conference championship, you did not...We have a record setting quarterback who's overcome adversity and career-threatening injuries to redefine himself at his own position.

The difference is, we're not here talking about almost bald-faced lies like, "NFL scouts are drooling..." over White, and that the only questions are, "...his knees...".

We talk about reality, and the reality is that when you speak of White and his "alleged" ability to go to the next level, you're not talking our language...

No problem, mesquite. I was registered here long before this game came up, but I admit that it had been some time since I had encountered this much smack since my last visit to hornfans.com.

 

Even if White goes undrafted, what does it matter that he wants to come back and play another year of college ball?

I read the article and it sounds like a guy who just loves playing college football. I didn't read anything about the NFL, or White's desire to play in the NFL. It honestly sounded like he just wanted to play college football as long as he legally could, after having suffered untimely injuries.

Other than White having a terrible game against LSU in the Sugar, I could really care less about him. But in this era of "great" players jumping to the NFL early, White WANTING to play college football is refreshing, even if he has no chance in the NFL. Maybe I didn't read enough on the subject. Maybe White is a jerk who doesn't deserve an extra year, or maybe he has been putting down LSU . . . but I just see a guy who loves the sport and wants to keep playing.

 

LSUfan, Jason White would never be disrespectful to any opponent. He is just an Oklahoma boy who only got to play one full year of college football and wanted more. As he said when he told his teammates he was staying, sidestepping any possible press conference for the announcement, wouldn't anybody want to play one more year if they had the chance? If you knew Jason, you would know that is exactly what he means.
