Oh what a difference a couple of years' makes. I largely agree with the sentiment here. JJ needs to ride the pine a little and let Lee get in there. Send a message, try something different, shake it up a little, give players an opportunity to see what they can do ... however you want to color it. I think it's time.

JJ reminds me a little of J Russell in the sense that he has some good physical skills but struggles with the mental aspects of the game. This is the single most important leadership position on the team. You have to be able to make plays, make reads, make adjustments, direct traffic, and lead your players. JJ struggles to do most of these things. He looks like he is working hard out there but he is really pressing and he is not truly playing the position. With this much talent out on the field you have a different kind of challenge. The first challenge is to relax and play the game. Maybe a little time on the bench will help.

Of course an open door for Lee could mean a closed door for JJ. After all, what was it Brees' said in his book? "Never let your backup on the field".

I think you are very, very wrong. This line run-blocked very effectively in the I.

So says you. We need to be able to run the ball to protect a lead in the SEC and keep the rivals high-powered offenses off the field. They can't score if they can't get the ball back.We couldn't do that last year.

We are undefeated and you are frustrated already. You will die young of ulcers while I live long and enjoy Tiger football, . . . win or tie.

I'm not convinced that putting Jarrett Lee behind an offensive line that is not quite as good as the one he played behind before is such a great idea. It's not like Lee has the wheels to get out of trouble and make something happen if the pocket starts to collapse.

Would Lee respond by taking the sack or try getting rid of the ball to avoid the sak?

He would throw it away (out) if nothing's there, like any QB should.

Or, he would throw more pick 6's.

I think for our O to get to that next level we need a QB that will back teams up with the threat of a vertical attack. I rewatched the game and IMO the game just has not slowed
for Jefferson, most of his passes are late, he has all the tools he just holds the ball a little too long.
In no way am I bashing Jefferson, I just think Lee should get more time early in the game and see what he can do with all the great tools we have at wideout. The O-line gave the QB alot of time in this game, the pass blocking has been looking better, the team is getting better and I think will have a damn strong team...

If JJ goes back to the bench it'll be the best thing for his opinion rating. The backup is always the most popular player on the team. I'm amazed at how quickly people are forgetting how inept our offense was whenever Lee played last year.
