the tech game means almost nothing. it is only important for the psyche of the team. the OM and Ark games will decide if LSU goes to Cap One or Cotton. the coaches should do what they need to do to make the team better down the stretch, not necessarily do just what is needed to win vs tech.

true, but what I wasn't thinking of (and was pointed out to me), is the backstory.
Flynn didn't have a bad history going into any of those games/seasons.
So all we knew of him was success in limited showings. So people naturally thought he was just going to do well all the time. Very similar to people wanting to see RP when Flynn was gimped up in '07.

Now, we have a guy who was rather terrible when he saw the field.

Personally, I'm not sure Jefferson is the guy that can take this team to the next level. Maybe he is the guy, maybe he ain't. I don't know yet.

But I'm rather confident that JL is NOT that guy.

I'm sorry but i still can't help but wonder if LSU would have been national champions in 06 had Matt Flynn been the starting quarterback. Both losses that year were probably on Jamarcus. Every close game we played were because of Jamarcus' mistakes, even though his cannon got us out of alot of those problems he created. Looking back, who was the better all around quarterback? Oh and i was a HUGE Jamarcus supporter, i think i was wrong though.

Man I could not agree more. We would always be yelling at the TV when he would take those 20+ yard sacks, then every once in a while he would throw a 30 yard pass after the sack and get a first and the commentators would be all over his jock. We were sitting there saying he probably should not have taken the sack and they would not have been in that position. It eventually caught up with LSU. That stuff you get away with against the BFE teams doesn't work against the top SEC teams week in and week out.

Who knows if where the 06 team would have went, but I always thought the 06 team was the most talented LSU team I had every seen.

No doubt Jamarcus has great physical talent but it takes more then that sometimes.
