I agree with this. It should be good for JJ and for JL. Remember, he did fine last year against the scrubs, even mounting that huge 4th quarter comeback against Troy.
While I'd prefer JJ in the game, a nagging ankle injury is nothing to laugh at.. Remember what Flynn's passes were looking like when his ankle was giving him trouble? I'm pretty confident JL will be able to beat Tech once he finds his rhythm. Let JJ's ankle get better for another week so he can finish the season out.
I say play JJ as straight pocket QB and run effectively until we get a sound lead, then let JL be the liasion between RB and center :milesmic:
Most of you are talking like the LaTech game is going to be a gimme. Nope. Not after the physical and emotional toll the Bama game took on LSU. Remember what LSU did the week after the tough Bama game last year? Almost lost to Troy. LaTech is better than Troy was. Jarrett Lee? He almost threw another pick six versus Bama last Saturday. It was dropped by the defender. He did throw a bad INT on LSU's last offensive play of the game. Tigers are going to have to show a lot of character to finish the regular season with three straight wins. We'll see. And, hey! If we're lucky, maybe we'll see the defense get at least one QB pressure before the end of 2009! :thumb:
You think a game against Boise didn't take a toll on Tech? In other words LSU WON the friggin' game, In other words he DIDN'T throw a pick six. They are going to have to play like a top-10 team, which they are. Nothing in the world except a crystal football each and every year would make you happy.
That 24 point line ain't what it was now as when I first saw it. Not that it really matters if we cover, unless you're a gambler.
Do we have any injury report on LA Tech? Good point there. I am all for JL to start; I have a feeling he wants to redeem himself and will play with determination. I don't think it is smart to play JJ, although football players are supposed to play despite being injured. Let him heal better for Ole Miss. Absolutely no point in taking the risk of re-aggravating the injury; there is a reason why he is on crutches.
With the Ole Miss game coming up I would not risk Jefferson unless I was absolutely sure he was 100%.
