I hope Lee does good in the All star game. People may laugh at me but I think Lee will be a great NFL QB.
I hope he at least does well enough to earn himself a job in the NFL as a scout quarterback or maybe even a third stringer. I think "great" nfl quarterback is pushing it.
I won't go off. I booed JJ when he was put in the game against Kentucky and cursed loudly at the TV during the Arkansas, Georgia, and Alabama games where JJ played like **** for multiple drives and the change wasn't made. I know who the best QB at LSU is. Sadly, the coaching staff doesn't.
I won't laugh at you. JLee's problem has been Coach Les Miles all along. The kid came in last year and saved several games. He came in this year and had us 8-0, 13 TDs and 1 int. OK .. he through a two ints against Bama! So what! Great QBs are not immune to throwing ints. Luck thew plenty this year, and will likely be the top pick. The difference, Luck's coach didn't sit him on the bench after he threw an int ... whereas CLM did, because he had an agenda. I'll stick with my previous position ... I think JL could have beaten Bama the first time with a coaching staff and game plan that played to his strengths .. .and a coaching staff committed to winning with JLee, as opposed to a coaching staff licking it's chops to make a switch. Bama was notorious for stopping the run and rushing the passer ... so go for the game stategy that minimizes those qualities. The EXACT game plan that Bama employed against LSU in the NCG would have done wonders against Bama as well. Short TE routes, short down and outs .... 5-10 yard plays. It would have frustrated the Bama pass rush, opened up the run game a bit, and backed the LBs off. I hope JLee goes for it. I hope he plays like a star in the All-star game, and someone notices. I hope he makes it to the pros ... it will be vindication, as we know JJ ain't gonna be playing on Sunday.
College football All-Star Game: Players get to know each other Lee seems to be doing well: LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee, Tulsa signal-caller G.J. Kinne and Colorado running back Rodney Stewart stood out on a day long on drills and short on scrimmaging. Eleven former UA and Arizona State players practiced with the Stripes.
Yes in no contact drills agains PAC 12 DBs. Wait till James Harrison or Clay Mathews drills JL. Too many forget or ignore his reactions to physical pressure that has remained constant over 4 years. He can't take a hit and perform. His NFL future is as non existant as JJs.
You will note that I said nothing about a possible NFL career. I'm well aware that he's performing in a practice scenario at the moment. I merely commented that he was doing well. I'm simply pleased, as he is a former Tiger.
I wish him well also. Many continue to insist he has the tools to have been our #1 and make it in the NFL that perhaps I made a kjnee jerk reaction to your comment.
Extraordinarily classy radio interview with Jarrett Lee on ESPN Tucson. Interview starts about 90 seconds into the recording: Wednesday, Jan 11th 2012 Happy Hour 5pm - ESPN 1490 The Fan
Thanks Man!! As a die hard Jarrett Lee fan, have been the entire 4 years he was there, that was a good listen. I'm glad to see the guy going for it, and despite being screwed by CLM, he's still positive. I think fate had to step in this year to make sure that he got the chance to lead us to victory the first 8 games. I will not be suprised if one day, he makes it.
