If they have been watching him play, they know he has confidence and mechanics issues (Throwing off back foot). If both can be corrected, he can definitely make a roster and maybe challenge at being a backup or 3rd stringer like you said. It's pretty good considering how much he has been through in 4 years here.
Just a shame he didn't get more practice at over the last three years. I know he's no Peyton Manning .. but hey ..
