1. Yes and no. If a coach is demanding without having any clear cut reasons for his decisions, or is inconsistent with how he treats players, then a kid may have good reason to have problems with the coach. However, if the coach is simply a disciplinarian and runs a tight program and a kid just has a problem with authority, then it is the kid's attitude, not the coach's that needs rearranging.

But, we all agree that the program needs to go in a different direction than it was, and we want nothing but the best for the Tigers!
  2. I read a quote from Maineri a while back saying that NONE of the starting jobs were locked up. He wanted to see what everyone brought to the table first. If Bogany left because the position was handed to him then I say good riddance. To me that is the same thing as Robert Lane saying "I'm too scared of the competition at a real school like LSU, so I'm gonna go to that Junior College in Oxford".
  3. Never said that, however I love it when a coach grows a pair and stands up for what's right no matter how great the player is, much like $kip did with Joey.
  4. I applaud Sauce. (We had Smoke now we have Sauce) Everything I have read is that this kid was not working hard. Sauce let him have it last week and he didn't want to hear it. Ok, here is the door and next? I am glad we do not have a Razorback situation w/our baseball team.

  5. thats exactly what he said. And i never thought much of it when he rarely if ever mentioned bogany but its rather clear now. I just assumed he wasnt mentioned because he was a lock to start cf.

Certainly CPM has been dealing with this since he's been here and eventually just had to cut him loose. cant go guaranteeing starting positions. dude is a sophomore who underachieved. cmon jarred. no prima dona attitudes especially when you're walking into a storied program and have done nothing.

true, stanley admits to this day, joey is the most talented guy to come thru the program even if it was for 10 minutes. worked out well for the program.
  6. Hey I thought I said that????    :D :D :D :D
  7. He wasn't kicked off the team. He quit of his own accord because Mainieri handed him a challenge and he folded. We don't need players like that.

  8. Who the hell is this jarred guy everyone keeps talking about?
  9. NO! I said the new sheriff is NEAR!!!:hihi: :hihi:
  10. I agree with Bengal Buddy.
An article on NOLA.com last Friday may give a little hint of the problems Bogany was having breaking into the starting line up this year.

    http://www.nola.com/lsu/t-p/baseball/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1169188315221540.xml&coll=1

(again, you may need to cut and paste, I am still not sure about inserting links)

As in most interviews with Coach Mainieri doesn’t specifically state any particular player for any particular outfield position, but the article indicates Steven Waguespack and Jared Mitchell as a possible starters for the outfield. Then goes on to say that the final outfield position would probably be between Steven Broschofsky, freshman Blake Dean and Bogany.

Bogany was reportedly very good coming out of HS. Maybe he did not want to face the competition for the position.

    Anyway, he is gone.
