Maybe I am wrong but this is how I feel about McFarland. He is from Texas & Texas is Number ONE! His Family wants him in Texas. His Family has not visited LSU & may not. Are we reserving him a spot hoping against hope when we maybe should take some other player, maybe someone closer to home? If we wait to long we will probably get nothing? Is my thinking all messed up again? what do you guys in the know think??Who else are we really after??:geaux:

We are after a few guys at the DT position and will come away with someone. McFarland has had LSU at the top of his list according to Texas insiders but the LSU staff has known it would be a struggle with his mom liking Texas. His grandmother wants him to go to OU.

He is not the reason Sentimore was not offered up to this point if that was what you are getting at.

Can anyone photoshop this and put LSU on the right and Texas on the left?

    Thanks. ;)

Isn't that the same rumor that went around when they brought in Major?

McFarland is truly undecided. Texas is the default school - the school he can't go wrong with that's close to home. LSU is making a strong push though & made a great impression with his official visit. The question is if it will be enough to overcome the easier decision.

Looks like OU DC Brent Venables could very well become the next head coach at Clemson. The word is Venables will take OU DL coach Jackie Shipp along with him and promote him to be his DC.

We have been hearing McFarland's mom and grandmother really like OU, but are tied to Shipp. Shipp leaving knocks OU of the race.

Really beginning to look like JM stays in the Lone Star state. This apparently from some very good sources.

Very possible but there have been a ton of those apparent sources out there saying these things for awhile now. I think UT is the team to beat but I have also heard UT sources say Mack dropped the ball last weekend when JM came in for a visit.

I honestly feel that he feels the most comfortable at LSU. However, his mom still likes UT the best IMO.
