First of all, Aaron Brooks doesn't win games. I understand some people think JaMarcus makes stupid decisions like Aaron, but that's where the similarities stop (other than they are both black). JaMarcus will not lose games for us, he may not always make the best decision & we may lose because of it, but he won't "lose" the game - if that makes sense. I also like to point out that our defense saved Mauck's butt more than once in 03 because of his poor decisions.
Brooks 13 TD's 17 Int's Russell 15 TD's 9 Int's I'd say the copmarisons are nil. Brooks cost the Saints a bunch of games, JR didn't cost LSU any. JR is a great team leader, Brooks was a jackass.
His freshman year, in his first collegiate start, in a hostile environment. Not directly because of JaMarcus.
I've never seen a quarterback on any level that didn't need a little help from his D from time to time. This "fact" could be used for just about everyone.
That's highly debatable. I mean, I guess you could say that it didn't help that the running game wasn't effective. But it's a lot easier to shut down the running game without the fear of a passing attack, right?
He also lead the Saints to their first playoff victory EVER. I'm not saying they're one in the same. Really, the decision-making tendencies are the only real similarities I see. I'm just pointing out some facts.
The key word being directly. Whether it's because of JaMarcus or not is debatable, but JaMarcus never throws interception on the 10 yard line to spot the other team touchdowns. He doesn't fumble on other team's goal line either. PS: Mauck did both of those.
