Wow. Would that explain why JR wasn't even at the Peach Bowl by the sidelines with the rest of the team? Yes, on the outside it may seem to be the coaches' decision; but there may be more to it. It was highly irregular to anyone that Miles would tell JR to stay home before the team leaves for Atlanta, although he would not be doing much physical activity in Atlanta. Don't know if he was told he can be with the team at the game and he opted not. Injured players not dressed up often are at the sidelines, I am sure, esp. in big games. I am sure JR wasn't barred from being with the team at the game; that's why I am wondering if he got pissed off and didn't bother to show up for his team. I am just speaking my mind; all speculation. ________ Lovely Wendie99
I have yet to be able to understand what the REAL reason was that JR didn't go to the Peach Bowl. Nothing makes sense. First. a bowl game is supposed to be a reward for the players for having a good year. JR was an important part of this team,s success. Why shouldn,t he go. In fact, I believe Ohio State had an injured player (a broken leg , I believe) who not only attended the game, but dressed out even though there was no chance he would play. Secondly, any rehab or surgery would have only lost a couple of days and it had already been a almost a month since he got injured in the SECCG. Don't think waiting a couple of more days would have been much of a set back to his recovery. Even if he was thinking about turning pro, so what, he should still be allowed to go to the game (see First,). I'm still .
I may be way off on this (and I truly hope I am), but I smell a sports agent somewhere in this equation.
He would definitely be drafted on the second day at worst if he came out. Guys with his phyiscal talent don't come along all the time, and he has shown the ability to progress. Someone will pick him up to groom for the future.
That move by the coaches would make some sense if they already sensed or know of friction between the two QB's. It wouldn't help the team if JR was lukewarm supportive of MF if the game was heading south. ________ Foot Problems Forums
That makes sense. I am sure some teams would hedge their bets despite his injury. And God forbid, if he doesn't work out, they will drop him like a hot potato. Business is business. ________ MAGIC FLIGHT LAUNCH
My friend's cousin's co-worker is JR's friend and he said that she said that he said that he said that..... Wait, they said not to tell anyone. Sorry!
Bull**** My mailman's cousins friends cousins sister's douchbag boyfriend's brothers mailman told me that JR never said that but then told people to say that but jokingly!
If he is thinking about or worried about Flynn or RP Beating him out in the spring, then why would he think he could make it in the NFL? He needs to stay, win the starting spot, and have a great season in 2006 in order for him to be considered in the NFL. He has the arm strength but his mobitility in the NFL, and the speed of his decision making are going to hurt him in the NFL. He is still very raw in his decision making and doesn't make his decisions quick enough yet and still needs to improve on defense reading.
