Robert Lane didn't want to come to LSU to compete with Russell. but camp is ok, right, coward, uh i mean robert. Maybe look for Robert Lane to pull out and go to Tom Brady's camp instead. You know, at the last minute.
Camps are a good way to sharpen your game. Plus, they can get a chance to scope out the competition, which could be a confidence booster. I'm sure RP was bashful when he was rated very high last year. I think this is an awesome opportunity for JRussell to display his skills, boost his confidence, and learn more about the position.
We will see how Spurlock does when playing SEC competition. He was the so-called 2nd coming last year too and didnt just flop but completely fell on his face during the actual games
I know some of you guys HATE the Manning family but think about this. I say they KNOW this game and how to teach it. Look at how many "NAME" atheletes go there to learn. Look at the people they have that come in to help. If these kids were not benefiting from the camp, it would have ended in failure a long time ago. It is not the MANNING CAMP in name only. From what I hear, they are there putting in the time and effort to deserve the recognition they receive. I hear they will put in extra time to help answer questions etc. I remember when Archie was about to be drafted. Someone asked coach Vaught if the money being talked about was too high. Coach Vaught said to pay him whatever he asked. Why? Coach said Archie had the best football mind of anyone he had ever known.
Who pays for these camps? The kids family? RP went to Saban's and Manning's camp last year, that could not have been cheap. Do these camps give free tuition? I would think free would be against NCAA rules.
I have often wondered about that too. Same as the Skip bb camps. If I had a son that several colleges were interested in, I would send him even if I had to borrow the money or take up a collection among kin folk. In the case of JR, since he is already on ship, what is wrong with LSU paying the tab? They have people that plan his meals, monitor his running time, oversee his study time, tutor, etc. This is, in my opinion, just more training.
