I am hoping that the Raiders take JaMarcus & trade him with Clevelend. It is the best situation we can hope for. Our player goes #1 overall, which helps with recruiting/prominence, but doesn't have to suffer with the Raiders & will have a better chance to shine. And of course it never hurts a program to have a superstar NFL player from your school.

    They don't see his "fire".

I'd say that makes a lot of sense. It's hard to get motivated when you can do it 1/2 ass and still dominate due to your God-given talent.

This is a good thing, Mel Kiper is always wrong with his draft logic.

The only way I think the Raiders pass on JR is if they get some unbelievable offer. Something to the effect of Atlanta trading up to get CJ, and giving up Shaub and The #10.

I doubt something like that happens, So I'd say it is likely JR is gonna be a Raider.

Oakland has no need for Calvin Johnson if they have no one to throw him the ball. Free agency is about tapped out on QB's, and outside of JR and Quinn there are no other rookies that a team would consider giving the ball to.

So if they surprise me and take CJ, look for Joey Harrington to be their QB. He is the only FA that has enough upside to give the nod to.

Well, from what I've read so far. It appears people are questioning his work ethic and desire due to Russell's very laid back nature. But what they dont know is JaMarcus has always been this way, it's not that he's not motivated or something. Not to mention his laid back nature helped him win 8 times in come from behind situations in the 4th quarter and overtime. His nerves are on ice, and this is supposed to be a positive not a negative.

"- to select LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who has a magnum force arm but revealed himself to be a rather naive small-town youngster in his interviews at the scouting combine. It definitely sends up the Ryan Leaf warning flag. Plus, is it really smart to pair a rookie coach with a rookie quarterback? Kiffin deserves a fairer chance than that. "

I could see it being an issue if they interviewed him and he had like this cocky arrogant attitude and they got this vibe that maybe he was uncoachable or had a weak mind in pressure situations, but to me what does that mean "naive small-town youngster" and even if that's true what does that have to do with being a great athlete or even having leadership skills? To me these guys take the wrong things completly out of these interviews, cause seriously this has nothing to do with being an accountable pro athlete. I would love to know what the cincinati bengals ask their potential picks in their interviews cause they seem to love the "hardened criniminal types" with " big city street-credibility" with a knack for landing in the slammer for a wide range of violations haha.

    Precisely.

I'm not too sure, but I'd bet Bret Favre, John Elway and Terry Bradshaw are not part of the Mensa Society.

It will be great to finally have an LSU player go #1 overall. Even if that does not happen, I think JR is scratching the surface on his ability. He'll be a supa star in the NFL - one of the best ever. A motivated JR will wreak havoc.
