Actually, you're way off here. But, as a USC alumni, you must be used to that. :thumb:

ND fans saw signifigant improvement with BQ, once Charlie Weis stepped in. In his first two years, with Coach Willingham, BQ was serviceable but nobody would have thought he should be the number one QB in the draft. For a QB, the switch from Willingham to Weis should be like a surfer moving from Iowa City to Huntington Beach.

Not surprisingly, Bitter's only purpose is to be contentious(not merely opinionated), but considering his core beliefs are based on classic delusion, this is understandable, if not entirely acceptable. I won't even dignify his not so "subtle" jabs with a comment, but instead will show what the culmination of those 4 solid years resulted in for the mighty Quinn. In the three losses last year, and actually the only games of any meaning, Quinn's stats were less than stellar:

    Loss to Michigan 47-21
    Quinn 25-48, 234 yards, 3 sacks, 3 Td, 3 Int

    Loss to USC 44-24
    Quinn 22-45, 274 yards, 3 sacks, 3 Td, 0 Int

    Loss to LSU 41-14
    Quinn 15-35, 148 yards, 1 sack, 2 Td, 2 Int

So after 4 years and 2 years under the wizard of Suzie Q's tutelage, when Quinn should be peaking and was a certain lock for the Heisman, and of course should be the #1 pick in the draft, he managed in his three most important games, a woeful:

    62-128 (48%), 656 yards, 7 sacks, 8 Td, 5 Int

Oh yeah, and in case you forgot, he also lost those games. You are right Bitter, he really is subtle. No wonder us po' state educated bayou boys didn't get it the first time. Welcome to the NFL Brady...

Why are we surprised by this? ND is the media darling and ESPN is the quintessential sports media station. Ofcourse this guy is hating on Russell. What it all boils down to is this: everybody on this forum knows what Russell can do. All we can do now is hope that a good team (or atleast a team with the potential to be good) picks him up and that will be the end of that. Absolutely nobody is gauranteed success in the NFL, including BQ and JR, so all we can do now is let the two settle it out on the field. Screw ESPN and this writer. The scouts are paid to know which players are good and to say that the Sugar Bowl is the only reaon hes on the radar is utter B.S. and we all know it (see: 67.8 % CP, 167.3 QB rating, and 28 TD passes to 8 INT's, versus SEC defenses no less).

While I still say Quinn could be a good NFL QB, I now hope nothing but bad things (on the football field) for him after his recent comments.

Hmm, I seem to have left out that JR led LSU to 8 come from behind victories, 2 on the road against top 10 teams. at Alabama, at Arizona St. right after Hurricane Katrina, Oregon St., in his first ever college game,at Top 10 Tennessee, against Ole Miss twice, Auburn, and at Florida,

I hope this guy is right if JR has to go to the Raiders. It will be fun to watch.

I dont expect ND grads can understand this, but if you just google "JaMarcus Russell", you'll find out he started for 2 full years, and played a lot as a freshman in 2004. But then, I dont expect a ND grad to understand it...

And btw he improved dramatically every year..

The only hole in your argument is your assumption that Bitter even attended ND, much less graduated. I find this highly unlikely...:hihi::hihi:

Exactly.....it's not what LSU fans are saying, like you state, it's the experts outside our University. Good post. :thumb:
