Don Jones coached me in High School at Crowley High in 96. We had the best receiver in the state named Jerry Dirion and he sent him to Michigan. He does have very close ties up in Michigan, what a plug.
Williams not going to LSU has nothing to do with his HS coach. The guy may be an idiot and may try and push guys away from LSU for all I know, but the kid wasn't going to walk on at LSU and that was the only option he had.
Well, let's not forget that LSU had few scholly's available... LSU only signed 13 players this year and considering that LSU already had several young backs on the team and had Antonio Robinson (the #1 running back in Louisiana) committed, why would LSU go after another RB who actually played at around 160# in his Senior year? In addition, R.J. Jackson played some RB as well. I don't know if LSU recruited him as a DB or not but RB is not a serious need area for LSU and with a limited number of scholarships available, 1 RB was plenty.
Re: Well, let's not forget that LSU had few scholly's available... So true. I have to wonder how good the other RB at RJ's high school was since they only saw fit to let him run for 700 yards with a freaking 9 yard per carry average.
