True, but Clinton had executive experience being a governor of a state - same as GWB. And yes, McCain had plenty more experience than Bush in 2000, but I seem to remember that McCain lost thanks to some of the ads that were flung his way from the Bush Campaign, particularly in South Carolina, I think?

Being in the Senate for a long time doesn't make you experienced, you're right. However, based on what McCain has accomplished, committees he's been on, chaired, etc., as well as his military background, make me feel that he is more fit for the job than Obama.

I conceded the point on experience, still in my mind its not the right experiences or policies that we should continue to persue. So yes I am looking for change, because the last 8 years has only been beneficial to a small amount of people. This country is a mess right now. And you cant blame that on 2 years of Democractic control congress like people here want to do. When the fact is you have a sitting president of another party that vetoes anything that comes out of that congress that isnt to his liken.

I think I fall into the camp of people that really criticize Obama while professing that I am not much of a McCain fan either. Guilty as charged.

I don't hate the man, would probably enjoy having a beer with him. I think it may be that there is just so much fear of the unknown. With McCain, you know what you are getting, good and bad. With Obama, there is just so many things that are unknown or that he won't answer. It scares the hell out of me.

I don't know how we ended up with these 2 clowns. Actually, yes I do.

For some reason (would love to hear everyone's opinion as to why), the media turned on Clinton and gave the dems Obama.

Romney and Huck split the conservative vote, which gave the repubs McCain.

I was firmly in the Thompson camp, mainly because he was a conservative, but also because I wanted to hear the Law & Order sound every time he entered a room.

I was initially a Thompson supporter too. Then I realized one day that although he was a conservative, in terms of experience, he was really no different than Obama. I had to ask myself the same question I asked about Obama: "What has the guy really ever done?"

Thompson had a pretty impressive resume, including 9 years in the U.S. Senate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Thompson

Plus, he was the district attorney in New York City for 3 different Law & Order units. Oh wait, getting confused...:insane:

This is perhaps the bottom line for me. I'll never vote for the dumber of two candidates again. Intelligence gets you further than ideology in dealing with the unknown,

This bother me as well, and I'm probably voting for McCain. It's like that mild headache that just won't go away. You know it's back there, and it's going to get worse, you just don't know when.

That being said, I have worked with several people that were just too smart for their own good. They were a lot smarter than me education wise, but just could not adapt to working with real people, real clients and others that they seemed to constantly think were beneath them. I don't know if Obama falls into this camp or not, as he's just so darn elusive on everything.

Can we throw them all back and start over?

You do realize that he's not the president yet, right?

I see a lot of people criticizing the article, but I don't see anyone disputing any of the claims that the author made. I'm with red. I simply cannot tolerate another 4 years of some figure head spouting off the same disingenuous platitudes that have no real purpose or significance. I'm tired of cringing in embarrassment every time our president speaks publicly. Some of Obama's policies may not sit well ideologically with me, but I believe that the international opinions of him can do a lot to restore our global perception. [insert terrorist affection innuendo here]

If he is not the president yet, then why is the article questioning what McCain was doing?

If he is going to write the article questioning McCain's offtime, he damn well better look at Obama's offtime. People make fun of McCain's public speaking but take Obama off the script and all he can say is uh uh uh, until he can figure out the most politically correct thng to say.

Please, we have yet again, 2 retards running for office. Out of 300million, we are left with these 2 idiots.

    This was a hack article.
