Aghh whwhyyyyy would you tempt like that. I get so excited thinking about that scenario. If you don't, you must not appreciate all that it means (aside from the fact that it's at the SUGAR BOWL).
I dont see Russell leaving for the NFL. He isnt ready. He has improved a lot and has a great future. That said, he still makes too many mistakes. If he comes back for another year he might be the top QB coming out and a top ten pick. Another year would do him well. I think he is really coming into is own and that one more year is what he needs. Besides that LSU will be loaded next year, returning most starters. I think the chances are better of Dorsey or possibly Doucet leaving early.
Of course JR's ready. He would be even better after another year, but he'll be just fine as he is now. Dorsey is a potential top 12 pick, and Doucet needs another year (esp. given the depth at WR in this draft.)
There is a ton of talent coming out this year at WR. I dont see anyone on LSU leaving early. I was just saying I think Dorsey would be the one to go if anyone. I think Russell knows another year and he will be a first round lock and a possible top 10 pick. Has there been any word on him possibly leaving early that this topic was made? Or is it just speculation?
Yea, it's come up. A pretty good source (cgisclair -- reporter at Reveille now) for info has said that JR is looking into insurance policies. If he can get one that's big enough, he'll stay. Otherwise, he's headed to the draft and a pretty good mid-first round pick.
Thanks for clarifying. I hope he can get that policy. If he leaves, at least we have Flynn waiting. He could be a starter a most schools. With Perrilloux and Lee waiting in the wings to battle it out down the road. Perrilloux has amazing talent, hopefully he can evolve his game. I seen him a few times in high school. He flat out dominated.
If JR makes to many mistakes, then so does every QB in the nation with the exception of Troy Smith. So, I guess there's only 1 guy in all of college football who's ready for the pros.
Perrilloux is good enough to possibly get the nod over Flynn.....I'm sure it will be a fierce competition. What a great problem Miles has to have to pick between these two should JR leave.
