I agree with all of you. I'm not sure where I weigh in. Honestly, I think Jarrett has earned the starter position. On the other hand, I've known Zach since the day he was born. Pretty much all he's ever wanted to do is play qb and be catcher on his baseball team. His dad made him pick one, it was hands down qb, and I think as he matures he may be one of the best ever. His dad is the best athlete I've ever known. I feel a little timid to come on here and say that kind of stuff because I'm definitely a bandwagon rider. I really hope Jarrett leads the team to a NC this year and Zach gets the next two. BTW, Zach played in a system that had 3 coaches in 4 years in high school. They coached him into the stratosphere at Butler. He's no where near his peak. I still think Jarrett is the guy this year. I really do.
Yeah, there isn't that D-line coming at him, for sure, LOL. Having said that, he looks better already than JL has ever looked against any level of D, including Troy St and LA Tech! Yeah, JL made some key plays against ALA last year, but no telling if ZM wouldn't have made the same plays, or better plays sooner and not have to come back like that to begin with.
Well, that is quite a statement. You may be right. Time will tell. Hopefully, if JL remains the QB, then he has become Flynn-esque, and is managing the game well, and LSU is undefeated rolling toward SEC CG and BCS NCG, baby! ZM looks like the better QB, though. As others elude to, the question remains who can manage the games the way this experienced, talented LSU team needs?
Anyone would look good against the Northwestern St defense. You're in awe of his mechanics the same way people were in awe of JaMarcus Russell's arm. It's no good unless he can do it in the big game against a legit defense.
