What's the over / under on Tiger fans having heart attacks during games!

I guess about 50 a season ... 12 at the home games in Tiger Stadium

General Lee will roll ... Get those meds ready by game time!

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 74. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. North wind around 5 mph.

This is from the National Weather Service web site. Looks like cool temps and very little chance of rain. Bodes well for the Tigers.

You interpret it as getting Mett experience throwing the ball as fast as possible and also give the coaches a chance to see him go through his reads and progressions in live action as well as throw the ball. Lee played 4 quarters against OU to win the game. Mett played 2 quarters for an evaluation against an inferior, beaten opponent.

And I'm not trying to say I want either one of them over the other, just answering this comment.

I didn't really word it right ... apparently.

There is no fan on this site who is a bigger fan of Lee than me. I thought he should have never lost his starting job in the first place. All last year, and the year before, I kept saying .... Lee should be the starter, with no 2 QB system.

Big IF .... when I say big, I mean I don't think there is a rhodent rectum chance in hell of it happening .... but ... IF ... Lee melts down tonight, I can see CLM beginning to work Mett into the rotation. CLM as said as much.

But like I said ... I don't remotely expect that to happen. I don't think we are looking at the same Freshman QB that we saw in 2008. He's much more controlled. He's not out to prove anything. He knows he doesn't have to be a gun slingin QB to win games, especially in CLM paradigm, where run is king.

Unlike some, I totally believe that we can goto and win a NC under Lee. I mean hey ... we've already beat one of the teams that was in the NC last year.

No, the ball slipping out of a QB's hands even with it raining it pretty rare.

And I never said once that I was "afraid" of Lee passing the ball. I implied the LSU coaches are afraid to have him sling the ball all over the field, however.

I want a balanced attack to put the defense in the least comfortable position possible.

I agree on that, yes if Lee has another melt down game, Les has to pull the trigger on ZM. But it all really depends on what truly defines a "Melt Down"

Good point after watching the lsu/nsu replay last night, my evaluation of Mett is this......he's a very very good thrower, ball comes out his hands quickly, has a great arm, and pretty accurate. What I did not see from mett was him making reads and progressions, most of his passes where quick wr screens against soft cushions. Even the plays he made downfield he went to his first and only progression because they were always open, I know the you man is very very capable, what I need to see from him to call him a stud is that he can read progressions and go to his second and third reads. Machanics wise he looks for superior to the other two QB's and that includes Jefferson.

I think we both agree on that point.

If Lee throws 22 times like he did against UO but gets a little more help from the WR's catching the ball, I think we'll be fine.

You must spread reputation around before giving it to onceanlsufan again

I think he'll get that help tonight. As everyone noticed, his timing with the WRs was significantly improved in NW game. The longer he throws to them, the better that timing should become.

I expect to see exactly what izzy is saying. There will be a lot of running, but there will also be a lot of mid-short route passes, especially on first and second down. ... with the occassional long route to keep the defense off balance. HOWEVER ... if we get a significant lead, CLM is going to go predominantly run to burn up the clock.
