Pretty sure he has 3 years of eligibility. He didn't burn one a t Gawga. He burned one at JC and has 3 left correct?
That would be great if you had a #2 ready to go, however LSU doesn't. They need to get him ready to play if needed, that means live snaps. Unless you plan to write the season off if Lee goes down.
He has three years of eligibility that he has to complete in three years. He is not going to be redshirted.
lsusports.net's writeup on Mett is as follows: "Spent one year at Georgia before transferring to Butler (Kan.) Community College for the 2010 season." I assume he was redshirted in 2009 at Georgia? If that's the case, then yes it would make absolutely no sense to redshirt him.
I have corrected you on this multiple times. He has 3 to play 3. One year of Juco and redshirt at UGA. Also I saw you mention redshirt after a certain point. That rule was done away with 3 years ago. If you play one down at any part of the season you are not eligible for a redshirt.
If lsu is in complete control of the game in the fourth qtr, mett should play. The only time mett shouldn't play is if the game is tight and lee is playing well. We don't want to be in a tight game and mett comes in and throws a pick-6 when lee is playing well and has no interceptions. On the other hand, if lee is something like 6out of20 with 2 interceptions and were down by 14 late in the game and it looks like were going to lose for sure, send mett in and see if he can save the day. If that happens and mett come in and pulls out the big come from behind win, it's his team.
We all know that rule is written in pencil and not permanent ink. That rule is skirted probably more than any other in the history of NCAA football.
