Well all you really have to do is go back and look at all of the discussions on JL since the suspension. It's all been about how we'd be OK if he manages the game well and doesn't make mistakes. Fine, he doing that. Yes, its Northwestern and its only been 3 series, but Mett looks like a playmaker.
It depends on the person's perspective. Some are fine with a 9 or 10 win season, just compete hard and be in contention in every game. Yada, yada, yada. Now if you're interested in a national championship THIS YEAR, then there is only one conclusion you can draw. Mettenberger has to lead the way to that end. Too bad Randle dropped that perfect pass over the middle on a crossing route. I think he would still be running. That would have made 3 TDs in one quarter for Mettenberger. And actual drives. Not a defensive turnover at the 20 yard line of the opponent.
1) His durability has always been an issue 2) Les is loyal to a fault. He won't bench Lee because Mett looks better. Unless things get real ugly.
Mett is a great QB and he is our QB of the future. But Lee is a calm head who was been to hell and back. In the heat of the battle we dont need flash we need a level head and Lee is definitely that. Experience trumps youth 80% of the time. Our last to NC's came with 5th yr seniors. Lee has to be the guy for now. But boy the future is bright for this LSU program.
ah, martin to the rescue here ya go http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/106377-best-interception-dt-ive-ever-seen.html
Lee's a great story. Love it. I really do. But I want to win a national goddamn championship this season. Jarrett Lee will not lead this team to a national championship.
