I don't care what standard you use ... compared to last year and the year before, our offense is looking great!

    I mean ... hey ....

    - We beat the #3 team ... in a neutral spot.
    - We actually blew out a lesser competitor ... something we haven't done in years.
    - I haven't seen the characteristic "confusion" of the last two years .. but instead, I see an offense that seems to be in control.

Lee is doing a hell of job ... he was 90% last night ... what the hell do you want!!!

And .. yes .. it doesn't matter how good Lee gets .. some people will have a problem with him ... throws off his back foot, not mobile enough .. blah blah blah.

We're winning ... and I don't consider Oregon to be a La Tech.

You might want to do some research before you post....
    2010
    LSU -51
    ULM - 0

    LSU - 41
    A&M - 24

Thats just last year. in 2009 they beat Tulane 42-0

Yes LSU likes to keep things interesting more than they should but to say they havent blown out a lesser opponent is a stretch

Perception is everything dude. My point ....

The offense doesn't seem to have issues this year, like the last couple of years.

I actually enjoy watching them play ... for a change, as opposed to dreading the typical 3 and out.

    TigerBait.com - No letdown

This is a quote from an article I just read:

Zach Mettenberger, who played the entire second half, completed eight of 11 passes for 92 yards and one touchdown - a 19-yarder to Kadron Boone. Lee played most of the first half with an ankle injury. He could have played in the second half if needed.

How bad is this ankle injury? Maybe Brett can help us with this.
Lee has the experience reading sec defenses. He may be able to see what the defense is trying to do and check out of the play where as mett wouldn't notice the blitz coming and not make the check.
    Lee has the experience.
    Mett is the better talent.
Let lee do his thing. Let mett learn. We don't have to pick sides. Let coach make the call. His record shows that he usually makes the right one. Until lee chits the bed, he's the man. I know mett is the better passer but can he read what a real sec defense is trying to do and protect the ball.
We're doing good. We will win a lot of games.
Lee has an ankle injury. How bad is it? I would rather have my experienced qb in the game when we face sec opponets. If lee can't produce put mett in. As long as lee protects the ball we will do fine.

I think it was clear that Mett looked crisp in comparison to Lee. I also think it is clear if you've been watching LSU football over the past few years that Miles will play his senior QB until he just can't.

It is hard for me to say Mett is the right call at this point. Lee has seen more adversity than most QBs, which can be valuable in tough games. We haven't seen what Mett will do with adversity, and if we can incubate him and win games without him our team will probably be better of for years to come.

I want to win a NC this year and I think we can do it with Lee. And if Lee shows he is in over his head, supplant Lee for Mett at that point.

I'll go back to what I said in post 120 ..... It would be really sad if CLM throws Mett out too early, such that he gets frustrated and end up with the same monkey on his shoulders that's been living on Lee's for the last three years.

I agree totally ... "incubate" him as long as you can. If we need to bring him in to save the season and NC ..so be it. But if we can get by with Lee, which I most certainly think we can .... I think it will be for the better come next year when Mett assurredly steps up to the starting position.

All I got to say ... is for gods sake ... don't bring JJ back as starter. I don't think I can handle another on/off season like the last two.

No quarterback is perfect. Green QB's make rookie mistakes and Mettenberger is going to have a bad game at some point. Mettenberger still has his rookie games in front of him, Lee has his behind him. We have a nice mix of raw talent and steady experience with the two quarterbacks.

I think we see a lot of both of them.

Les, Stud, and Krag are going to play whoever they think can give LSU the best chance of winning the game. Period. And I trust them to make that decision.

They are not going to say - QB Mett gives us the best chance of winning but I have to be loyal to Lee. Never. They will evaluate everything they have seen in camp and games and compare that to the game plan for the next game and play the best guy. Of course experience factors into the decision, but it's all about who can best help get the W. Just like every other position on the team. Thats why the players love playing for Les.
