Not quite, Jeanne is doing exactly what betsy did. I have NEVER seen what is happening with Ivan. For a storm to split apart after going way inland, only to have half go into canada and the other half swinging back around to form back up. I'm just glad that big mofo that is moving north in the Atlantic ain't coming this way.
This is a very strange occurence. From accuweather: The offspring of Ivan has now become tropical depression Ivan over the north-central Gulf of Mexico. As of 7 PM EDT Ivan was located near 26.9 north and 89.3 west or about 155 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi River. It is tracking to the west-northwest at 14 mph. A tropical storm warning is in effect from Sergeant, Texas to the mouth of the Mississippi River. The main area of convection is to the north of the depression due to southwest shear but the shear weakens to the west and we feel that the depression will become a tropical storm over the next 6-12 hours and it will approach the upper Texas coast near Galveston Thursday evening. With lighter shear over the northwest Gulf and warm water, Ivan could strengthen right up to landfall. Ivan should slow down and possible stall over east and southeast Texas over the weekend with flooding rains possible
Yeah, but Betsy didn't travel over land as long as this monster ... not even close ... this crap is amazing ... and there's three more out there ... just freaky weather patterns this year ... let's hope this bastid gets to shore and gives Houston a good douching and just dies out like a good boy this time ... it's ****ing with the Oil industry and raising oil prices and your costs at the pump :dis: Makes you wonder if "Minnie Me & the Good Doctor" have invented a weather machine that controls hurricanes :hihi: ... maybe we need to call Austin Powers and get some help
that is weird. a few days ago his leftovers were flooding new york subway stations. how did he get back down there so fast? crazy ass ivan!
