Well, you must run the football. You can't just automatically turn into a D-II black pass all day team like Grambling or Southern. You have to establish the run, in order to set up the pass. Yeah, we passed all day on them in the 4th, but they were in a prevent drop zone, which allows several options, just no big plays usually. And yes, we should have tried Scott, but it's all speculation. My biggest problem is with the play calling. It was the same with Saban, and leads me to believe that Dumbo Fisher is the problem. This fear of, "You can't be aggressive against an AU defense" is ridiculous. Fans were saying that on this board after our loss, and I think that USC proved them wrong. We have way more weapons and better ones at every position than USC.
Spurier--------USC vs Auburn--4th and 2 from 32 yd line--49 yd field goal Tuberville------USC vs Auburn--4th abd 6 from 33 yd line--Pass 1st down Miles----------LSU vs Auburn--4th and 2 from 31 yd line--Punt net gain 11 yds Talk about get out coached.
I think what it is, is that Louisiana residents don't realize how unimportant Louisina is outside of Louisiana. We, as Louisianians, take pride in our heritage, culture and hospitality, but out here in California, people do not care. I used to think Louisiana was well known and LSU was popular throughout, even after the championship, but I was wrong. I really don't like Cali myself, and I think pulling for and wear Louisiana team gear is a way of stickin' it to 'em. No one can say I'm a bandwagoner. I like Louisiana teams, and that's it. My friends out here, their favorite teams are Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, Penn State Florida, and we are in northern Cali! They love the game they just don't have that passion, you know? Oh well, I'm coming back in December to go to Southeastern... maybe that'll be another team I follow. :thumb:
I don't know if you've observed the performance of our kickers the last couple of years, but it ain't perty. They were trying to pooch(sp?) kick it and pin them back near their endzone. AU couldn't move against us other than that one drive.
My reaction was that Josh Booty made a terrible mistake by changing the play that was called by the coaches and threw an interception.
It should have never been so close. And, for you idiots that want to talk talent, the talent that saban inherited was still twice as good as the UAB talent. Saying that Miles should be fired proves that either A) you're twelve years old, or B) you're a f*****g moron.
Maybe you are right that we shouldn't fire a coach after that kind of record, but I firmly believe that our coaches had very little to do with an 82% winning record. Do you really believe that Miles is in the same category with Tuberville, Richt, Spurrier and Meyers? Our talent is what has us ranked in the Top-10 and that is what won most of our games. If you were a blue-chip offensive recruit, would you consider coming to LSU based on what Miles has done with the offense? The Miami game is the only exception. It will be difficult to recruit a Bowe or Davis with our passing attack. I just hope Miles isn't so stubborn going forward, because it will bite him in the a$$ later. You need a runnning game to open up your passing game and vice versa. You need a well balanced team. I don't believe anyone expected LSU to go undefeated this year, but it sucks when you missed your chance to beat a good team on the road because of many reasons including coaching decisions.
 Let me guess, them boys are coaching themselves. It's obvious that the coaching staff had nothing to do with any of our wins. Hell, let's just fire the damn coaches and let JR call the plays. Think of all the money the school could save. Dude, you are a freaking TOOL. He's beaten two out of four and only coached against three of them. Oh, that's right, the players beat them, not the coaches. I almost forgot.
