You should have seen my post before it was edited.

    7 dropped passes? Penalties?

I say nothing of JR's bad throwing decisions which led to INT's. I speak of dropped passes, penalties, and bad offensive line play.

Agreed. Just don't get yourself all excited for something that just isn't going to happen.

Though things will become a lot more interesting if USC or Texas loses this weekend.

IMO, the PSU jump is attributable to one thing and one thing only - JoePa is getting the "sentimental vote" on a national level.

This idea of the MNC being a beauty contest is bunk. The system is irrepairably flawed and cannot be fixed without moving to a playoff system, which the U president's are foolishly foot-dragging.

Bottom line? Until fans begin witholding their cash, the University presidents will deny them what they want.... a playoff system.

IMHO, it will take a major event or injustice in CFB to become the catalyst for this required change. CFB fans steadfastly support their programs no matter what, and rarely do they care past anything that directly impacts their chosen Program.

    The BCS is a travesty .... a sham ..... a mockery. It's a traveshamockery!

There is only one bowl game that means anything and that is the Rose (or which ever bowl is hosting the NC). All the rest are meaningless. If we win the sugar bowl what do we win? Nothing but a trophy. Now the SEC Championship game has meaning! If we win that game we are the best in the SEC, there is no poll, no computer, and no ESPN analyst that can say other wise, because it is proven on the field! I say screw tradition if it has no meaning.

To be split with the likes of Ole' Piss, Miss St., Kentucky, Vandy,.............

Besides going 12 - 1, I couldn't care less about the Sugar Bowl. I agree with Homertiger, if you are not playing for the NC, all that matters is the SECC.

What is the payout for a BCS bowl this year? I've heard 18 million.

I was afraid of that after the way LSU struggled against Arkansas. According to one analyst there is now way LSU can catch up with Penn State. I am not so sure, but I am not an expert on the computer rankings. At any rate it is all moot. LSU has not got a ghost of a chance of playing in the Rose Bowl, and that is what the ratings are all about.

the computers dont rank conferences and/or use that in their team rankings. the speculation in the BCS comes from the human polls and in making the computer formulas.

since when to bowl games have appeal? only one bowl game means anything. in the past usually two or three. besides the fact that the bowl games are played with no goal or reward, they are stupid because so many teams underperform and are unmotivated. thats why there are so many screwy results. a 4 round playoff would create 15 intense games. i would probably watch them all. i think i have never watched an entire bowl game that wasnt for the NC or had LSU in it.
