I can understand the media jumping on the bandwagon. The good thing is that LSU can crush Arkansas' NC hopes and all talk of it.

I just CANNOT forgive Arkansas was allowing USC to make monkeys out of them. 50 points? Unacceptable...and embarrassing.

    Understandable what you're saying here...

But this is a VERY different team than the beginning of the year. They have been the most improved team by far in the SEC over the course of the season.

I realize they're a different team, and I believe they would actually BEAT USC right now, but you must understand that we LSU fans really, REALLY hate USC, but that Arkansas loss is something USC can brag about...

I don't have a problem with them getting respect, they're earning it on the field. We'd want the same if it was us in their shoes.

Let's look at this based on what each (MSU and Ark) do and what their strengths are.

For Arkansas, it's easy: McFadden, McFadden, McFadden. They run the ball plain and simple. Smashmouth football. Arkansas doesn't pass it a whole lot--they can be effective, but they much rather run the football.

MSU, for all their faults, DOES possess an above average defensive front. Look, MSU kept Kenny Irons in check and we couldn't really run on them earlier this season either.

MSU won't put up 30 points. Heck, the bulldogs are going to be lucky to put up 20. But if their defense can cause a few turnovers and have a short field, and have Culberson and Co. keep McFadden from breaking some long runs, it's not THAT hard to believe that MSU at least has SOME chance.

Besides--all the pressure in this game is going to be on Arkansas. No WAY the Hogs want their season to come down to HAVING to beat us on the last game of the season. And Croom and his Bulldogs will be preaching "respect" this week because there is NO WAY Croom wants to see another team celebrate a division title on his home field--and that should be the pep talk all week for the Bulldogs...they can play spoiler.

Corso is jumping on the Arkansas wagon hoping that people will forget about his love affair with Cal.

McFadden and Monk are playmakers, so you simply can't discount the Hogs in any tight game. While Mustain's HS coach isn't a genious, he is certainly using the talent on the team much better than Nutt would have. Hog fans have been calling for a true OC since Broyes went senile.

While MSU has improved since the return of their original QB, it will still be a very tall order for them to win against Arkansas. I don't mean to sound fatalistic to LSU fans, but I have a feeling that Arkansas will simply put up enough points to outscore MooU.

And when it comes to respect, Arkansas did put Tennessee and South Carolina away quite effectively.
