Yep, real cushion of a schedule. They return a bunch on defense, but like I said, homecoming teams on the schedule.
Don't know if all the old posts made it to the new server, but it looks like it was a lot more quiet this time last year. I look at the main forum today, and every thread has been bumped within the last 3 days. But go back to page 52, and you'll see it was so slow this time last year that the main page has threads 11 days old (Aug 11, 2012 to Aug 22, 2012)
Lot of high expectations, new players and Offensive Coordinator. I am getting excited but there are a lot of unknowns going into this season. If this team wants to make a statement about being overlooked or under appreciated, Aug. 30th is the date to do that. I am quite confident chatter about LSU will pick up one way or the other following TCU.
not much actually, he said that LSU was the team waiting in the weeds to beat teams like Bama and contend for the title.
A lot of attention has been given to Manziel and eATMe and the goings on in that hell hole known as College Station. And, of course, the powers that be at ESPN are giving Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Oregon tons of love. Is this team underrated at 13? Maybe, but it might be easier for them to fly under the radar with a chip on their shoulder and surprise a few teams than be highly ranked and succumb to the pressure.
So is it the media overlooking the Bengals or the fan base that doesn't have it in gear, yet? Any case, TCU out of the gate will soon change all that. Right now, the toadyfrogs look like a decent test, even though they received some coaching attrition with their best players. I've seen them anywhere from 12th to 20th. LSU just has a tough schedule. I just think it's the Georgia game that's so pivotal to the season. Beat the Bulldogs between the hedges and Mo is riding high. I think Florida is going to get some payback in the Den and getting past the two premiere teams in the east will do it for the rest of the campaign as far as national perception is concerned. Then again, with the wild west. it is still about Alabama/LSU and that one is still a far piece. Could be that even with all the road blocks to maneuver, the Tide/Tigers are measuring themselves and the season by that one game. It's a great measuring stick to build up to and experience at the end of a long season. The next time any legit media site ranks the top rivalries, right now, not historically, right now, this game is #1. Somewhere, the other two teams, whoever they may be, are coming in a poor second. That's a lot for both of these teams to live up to each season. Might as well pace yourself.
