I'll have to add one thing to my comment TT. When Auburn is hitting on all cylinders, they can absolutely beat anybody in the country. However, when they play poorly, or when any one major component of their offense (Jason Campbell, the o-line, etc) plays poorly, for that matter, they are hard pressed to beat anybody, as was clearly shown in their loss to a mediocre Georgia Tech team. When LSU is hitting on all cylinders, we are capable of beating anybody in the country. When LSU's offense plays out of sync, we are still quite capable of winning against a good team (see Georgia, when we didn't wake up till the fourth quarter), but we can still lose to a good team (as to Florida, and after Florida beat the Hogs, I'll say that Florida is still a good team) I'm thinking LSU/Auburn will be a good game. A game that both teams had better bring their A+ effort for. Auburn has looked quite formidable the last three weeks, but they will need a little something extra to come out on top this week. So I hope your boys eat thier Wheaties on Saturday morning.
LSU vs Auburnt back in '97 when we had Cecil Collins ??? LSU had 377 yards rushing on 47 carries and still lost. Now would be a good time to return the favor. Watch who you are calling "black", Mr Pot. We are not the dumb ones...
That's a good one. Weird game. We couldn't run or stop the run. You couldn't pass or stop the pass. Came down to a couple of INTs you guys threw and a late drive by AU. But then again, while I may overstated things, Brandon Jacobs didn't. He made an absolutely true statement. When we run like that, "it'd be hard for anybody in the country to beat us."
Yeah, I selectively remember AU pounding your #1 defense last year for 31 points. And I selectively remember AU winning 3 of the last 4 and 7 of the 11 that have been played since divisional play made this an every year affair. You rube.
But you somehow forgot who owns the overall advantage and how everyone, including vandy, beat LSU under Hallman and DiNardo; and that since Saban's arrival, each team has only won on its home turf; or that since divisional play LSU has won an SECCG and auburn hasn't (too bad you got caught cheating when Bowden won out). You barner bumpkin!
Oooh. That mighty 2 game advantage (19-17-1). It's a little hard to gauge a series that wasn't played every year until 1992. Sort of like the fact that until this year, Vandy owned the series lead over us. Of course, they haven't beaten us since 1955. That's how things get messed up when it's not a regular series. Since we started playing you guys every year, we lead the series 7-4. You seem to have forgotten that we've beaten you even when we were having problems ourselves. 1992 we finished 5-5-1 but still managed to beat you 10-6. 1999, we finished 5-6 and creamed you 41-7 at Red Stick. Here's the entire series: 1901: AU, 28-0 at Baton Rouge Nov. 20 1902: LSU, 5-0 at Baton Rouge Oct. 27 1903: AU, 12-0 at Auburn Nov. 11 1908: LSU, 10-2 at Auburn Oct. 31 1912: AU, 7-0 at Mobile, AL Nov. 9 1913: AU, 7-0 at Mobile, AL Nov. 1 1924: AU, 3-0 at Birmingham, AL Oct. 25 1926: LSU, 10-0 at Montgomery, AL Oct. 16 1927: LSU, 9-0 at Montgomery, AL Oct. 15 1934: LSU, 20-6 at Baton Rouge Oct. 13 1935: LSU, 6-0 at Baton Rouge Nov. 2 1936: LSU, 19-6 at Birmingham, AL Nov. 14 1937: LSU, 9-7 at Baton Rouge Nov. 13 1938: AU, 28-6 at Birmingham, AL Nov. 12 1939: AU, 21-7 at Baton Rouge Nov. 18 1940: LSU, 21-13 at Birmingham, AL Nov. 16 1941: Tie, 7-7 at Baton Rouge Nov. 15 1942: AU, 25-7 at Birmingham, AL Nov. 14 1969: LSU, 21-20 at Baton Rouge Oct. 25 1970: LSU, 17-9 at Auburn Oct. 24 1972: LSU, 35-7 at Baton Rouge Oct. 14 1973: LSU, 20-6 at Auburn Oct. 13 1980: LSU, 21-17 at Baton Rouge Oct. 11 1981: AU, 19-7 at Auburn Oct. 10 1988: LSU, 7-6 at Baton Rouge Oct. 8 1989: AU, 10-6 at Auburn Oct. 14 1992: AU, 30-28 at Auburn Sept. 19 1993: AU, 34-10 at Baton Rouge Sept. 18 1994: AU, 30-26 at Auburn Sept. 17 1995: LSU, 12-6 at Baton Rouge Sept. 16 1996: LSU, 15-19 at Auburn Sept. 21 1997: AU, 31-28 at Baton Rouge Sept. 20 1998: LSU, 31-19 at Auburn Sept. 19 1999: AU, 41-7 at Baton Rouge Sept. 18 2000: AU, 34-17 at Auburn Sept. 16 2001: LSU, 27-14 at Baton Rouge Dec. 1 2002: AU, 31-7 at Auburn Oct. 26 You boob.
