1. I have always believed that you are a wise and perceptive man.

  2. It didn’t take me long to get on the O bandwagon. Herman wasn’t coming, Fisher wanted too much money, and everyone else was an unknown. O had a good interim with a good offense with the same players Miles got squat out of.

I also don’t believe the narrative that Alleva didn’t vet other candidates.

Hell, Alleva is looking pretty good right about now. If O upsets Bama, just dang...
  3. As long as that mike on his headset is up, I like how this team is being coached. E is doing a hell of a better job calling the game he sees and not the game his headset is seeing. So as long as O sticks to keeping the team behind the sideline and plays the management role, he should survive the hot seat for some time. That mike comes down though...I'd be a bit scared. He clearly has demonstrated that his best skillset as a game-time HC is to stay out of the way and manage the game politics. He trusts his coordinators and it is that that has garnered my respect.

  4. After a short amount of time Fisher or Herman would have bolted to the next school that offered them a dollar more. You couldn't give Orgeron enough money to leave LSU. That's the guy I want.

  5. LSU offered Herman $6,000,000. He signed with Texas for $5,000,000. He didn't want to be here in the first place. I believe Jimbo wanted to be here but not without more money than Alleva or F**king was willing to pay.

  6. I have always believed to be a success in anything as a leader ,Manager etc the key is get good people, expect them to perform and treat them well. Pay them as they achieve and create an environment where they can be happy.

I have had good bosses and bad bosses and believe me you know the difference. I once had a boss who was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He was tough but I enjoyed working for him. He didn't play favorites and was honest and worked hard too. He was first to get there and last to leave. I did good there and he got me promoted to store mgr across town.

I learned a lot from him.

  7. So the title of the thread said we were suppose to lose lots in 2018.

I am disappointed in myself! Media types and chat rooms and folks everywhere almost, were saying how Average the tigahs were going to be. I bought into it. When was the last time we only won 6? Curly, I believe.
At any rate, very few of us predicted a 7-1 start.
Speaking of Curly Hallman, I supported him like all LSU coaches, even though he was poor. Now THAT was a bad hire.

Now for Orgeron. I am Proud of him, plain and simple.
    Go Tigahs!
  8. Curly was an abysmal hire, to be sure. I am still rather (pleasantly) surprised with how Orgeron is doing this year. I didn't see us sitting at one loss going into the Bama game.
