He just referred to the guy as being Jewish. It aint like he said "that Jewish MF'r " or anything derogatory. What if the writer was in Birmingham and he was British or Italian, you get the same feeling? The sensitivity kills me.
Why Jewfish? Why not Grouper...or Seabass? Why Jewfish? What? He said "Jewish"? Never mind. - Emily Litella
Re: Re: It looks like most of the SEC West is with us Yea, you're correct. Even though my first post did say that both Auburn and Bama fans were behind us, it is MOSTLY Bama fans. Look at the way both those fans acted after their losses to LSU. You couldn't find a Bauburnite to save your life! However, Bama fans were back on this board either to congratulate us on our win, or eat their crow without a fight. If I would be forced by gun point to chose either Bama or Auburn, it would be without a doubt Bama (in all reality though, I'd probably just say to pull the trigger) All season long I've been the only one around here with LSU all over my truck. Now, I have counted 12 vehicles with something on them supporting us. I don't know if they are fairweather fans, or just SEC fans. I do know that a couple weeks ago I got accused of being a "trader". Someone seen me with my LSU gear and called me outright a trader and the only reason why I was wearing it was because both Alabama teams sucked. When I showed him my license and he seen my last name was Guidry, he knew I was the real deal. Damn it's great to be a Bengal Tiger!!!!
What difference does it make if a sports writer is or isn't Jewish? I would have asked the same thing if he had referred to a "Catholic writer", "Baptist writer", etc. I don't see why someone's religious affilitiation has anything to do with sports. Er, no, not really. If the owner of my company was a Jew, it wouldn't mean I was a Jew. Or if the owner was bald it wouldn't mean I was bald.
If he had described the sports writer as a member of any other religion, I'd have the same question. If the writer were a foreigner (from Britian, Italy, etc.) it could have more relevance than one's religion, since presumably US college football isn't followed as much in other countries.
Damn son......... dhead- youve got some serious pent up anger towards AU. I think you should let it go and focus on the good things going on at LSU. But it is really hypocritical of you to blast AU fans for not pulling for LSU when you yourself are pulling for the Badgers. Sounds a little like the pot calling the kettle black to me. Dont you understand that the AU fans who hate LSU are just like you but reversed???? WAR DAMN EAGLE!!
Yeah I live in Huntsville Alabama. I was at costco yesterday and everyone was sayin, "You think they're gonna do it?", or "Geaux Tigers", or "Smear those damn Sooners" It was great!
Re: Fulmer votes USC #1 (link) Lou Holtz also voted USC. (Maybe he thought he was voting for his own team)
anti-semitic ... are you crazy ... I live and work in Saudi. I just couldn't remember his name ... but I remembered that it was a Jewish name "something"berg ... he needs some torpedoes via e-mail. I'll bet PAC-10 is a straight sweep for USC.
